What diff is in my 92 Roadmaster

    I gave the stamped number from the axle tube to the place Im buying a ring and pinion from but the sales guy wasnt sure what rear end the car has. I know its a 10 bolt posi but is it safe to say its a 8.5" ?

    I just want to be sure before I order the gear

    What he said.... I can never find my list of SPID codes. There is a tag inside you tailgate with about a MILLION numbers. If one of those numbers is G80, you will have a 3.08 limited slip.
    Otherwise probably a 2.92 open differential
    All rears ar 8.5"

    OK, I see a G80 on the tag by the tailgate so if I have a 3.08 gear, is it worth going to a 3.73? I really dont want to jump to 4.10 / 4.11 but I wonder if Ill feel a difference going 3.08 to 3.73 Hmmmmmmmm

    3.73's are the way to go, you won't be dissapointed. That's what I have in my '93, I would do it again in a heartbeat.
    Try these guys for parts, they will set you up with a kit.
