Plugged two tires! One in the cp and one in the hornet. Coincidentally they were both flat in the right rear. The cp leak i found right off the bat. The hornet leak i could not find for the life of me. So I guess i only plugged one... but i did get it pumped up, out of the yard and took it for a drive around the neighborhood. Now it’s parked in the driveway awaiting further inspection

That's a pretty serious intake for a 305. What's the expected rpm range that engines going to live at?

It's honestly overkill for the engine, its off my old 383 sbc that used to be in my Camaro. But as my luck would have it, its the only intake I have for vortec heads. The cam in it is advertised to make power from 1600-6000. Intake is good from 2500-8500. But why not? It was on the shelf and my wallet has dust where the cash should be haha. As well as this only being a temporary setup. The intake and carb will be used with my good set of race heads on the next engine.

Last night was very productive also, figured out the shifter placement, home-made a gauge cluster, started working on a tachometer mount but it was 2am and getting cold so I called it a night. Should have more updates shortly.

My son had a 2-4 high rise set up on his 350 1983 Chevy pick up truck. He bragged about it.
Then he swapped to a single 4-barrel manifold and his power and fuel mileage went up.

Put the wagon away for storage!!! Had to clear some space in the basement but I got it done. This is where it will live until the kids are old enough to ride with out booster seats. It’s a tight fit!!! CDA8DCD7-F090-4E47-88FC-7E1BA38BDAB8.jpeg 70B5486D-6345-4674-9DE9-BA25955DC929.jpeg

Oh man, don’t get me started... we just got this place, although this basement garage was a big plus for me, but your right. Not good for cars. Great for the bikes except my wife can hear everything that goes on down there. (And sometimes it’s more than she’d like to know!!!)The plan was a garage far, far on the “back 40” We got just enough money to put up a metal building. It was part of the plan from the jump. I got all the plans, yard surveyed, quoted on concrete, building , and electrical. Here’s the thing, city ordinance says any out buildings have to be made of the same material as the house...my house is brick. From 1953. I think I might do something like Fannie mentioned in another thread and try fake brick siding??? I don’t know....:banghead::cry: It will happen though. And you all will here about it. :party3:

If all I had was a 2-4 tunnel ram id just put the whole thing on hold. haha That's a serious big cam, big valves, high compression setup. The single carb high rise I have is overkill, but semi-manageable.

To stay on topic, I got the tachometer mounted, shifter bolted to the floor, installed a passenger seat from my 79 firebird, have a small issue with legroom. (I'm 6'0, girlfriend is 5'9.) so I'm not sure if it stays or I have to go the race seat route on that side too. Tried to make it semi-comfortable since we are running hot rod drag week with the car in September.

Next on the list is the fire bottle, fuel system fittings, radiator mounts, and getting ready to install the transmission.

Chances are, the city only cares if it LOOKS like original (same) construction. But i was thinking, if it's going to be set well back on the property, maybe your town will consider a variance. You might have to go around to all your neighbors and get their written 'OK'

Are you on the Garage Journal forum? Lots of help over there on these kind of topics....
