With Christmas quickly approaching, us girls (mom, sister, sister in-law and myself) planned our annual shopping day. With mom having to use a walker most of the time now, we all decided the wagon would be the best car to take because she has the most space after the walker is in the back. Cool(y) A great day of shopping was had by all.

Replaced spark plugs, wires, and a new fuel filter on the '89 Crown Victoria. By the way, that thermostat was hard to get to. It had sensor switches and hoses all around it. My favorite of course, is impaling the back of my hand on the sharp 90 degree metal piece on the passenger side engine when replacing spark plugs at the back of the engine.

Well, I had put the Fury away for winter hibernation about three weeks ago.
My oldest son asked "Will we drive the Fury anymore this year?" I said, "not until spring."
Then as an afterthought I said "That is unless your Great Grandpa passed away. Then we would drive it."

Well, that very thing happened. Last week my Grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep.
So, over the Thanksgiving holiday I got the Fury ready for an unexpected late November excursion.

The main thing I had to do aside from washing it and cleaning it (I did a minimal detail job. I was wishing Texas Mike was around to help) was to replace the worn out wiper blades. I don't think I had changed them since I was in high school! I never drive the Fury in inclement weather, so the wipers are not something that gets used much.

The forecast for Monday, the day of the funeral, was calling for rain. So, I was on a mission.
Of course non of the local parts stores had what I needed, so I made due with what I had and a set of replacement wipers I bought at Bi-Mart.

    Old wiper blade:

    Looks good.

Should last another 20 years

No one online had any new old stock? You'd think someone would've collected a few Trico or Anco boxes over the years and had what you'd need.

Well, with the Thanksgiving holiday and the fact that I got a nasty 24 hour stomach bug on Saturday hampered my efforts. It was the best I could do on short notice. Thankfully the rain and sleet that was forecast for Monday held off and we had a beautiful crisp sunny day. So I didn't have to try out my DIY wipers.
The Fury is now safely tucked away once again for the winter. I'll look into proper replacements now that I have some time.

That's cool. I know your dance card's been full these last two weeks, so a pretty good effort for being prepared and having a no-show.

I put Lil'Sis in a Christmas today, it was a blast. We got a lot of thumbs up, pictures and videos taken. Mom came with me, she seem to enjoy herself calling out Merry Christmas to everyone, tossing candy to the kids. A few people recognised her and were calling to her, she was really enjoying the attention.
Well actually so was I. People loved the wagon all done up with the tree on the roof. Folks were calling me Mrs. Griswell, clapping and making references to THE move. So many people, mostly women, yelling that they loved the car...it's was great fun. xmas parade 1 2017.jpg xmas parade 2017.jpg xmas parade 3 2017.jpg xmas parade 4 2017.jpg

That is cool. You should've rigged a high-capacity inverter, then strung Christmas lights all over Li'l Sis.

Ya know?! We just watched a Christmas parade here in Goodlettsville. As all the old cars were going by I said to the ol lady that maybe next year we can put the wagon in the parade just like you did. Tree and all. What great idea! Great pictures.

I can’t figure out how to quote you for some reason Fannie but, you said mostly women liked “Lil sis”. I think Station wagons have become the ultimate chick magnet. So many women, (that’s women, not girls;)) have commented or taken pictures of my cp. One even asked me to be in the picture with her!!! Of course i had to oblige :tiphat: hey douchebag speed along. It’s cool but The only people checking out you in your 2017 vette are other guys! All these pretty women want a ride in my big wagon!:bananaman:
