Hi my name is Alice. I'm a 37 y/o handicapped girl from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. That is part of the Tulsa, OK Metro Area. with my disability I am considered Legally Wheelchair Bound even though I can walk 50' or stand 10 minutes before I start falling. I love cars a lot but handicapped compatible vehicles are so boring!!!!! Think I found a solution to the boring car option finally. .roject Yuki:. I hopping to find a Last Generation Full Sized Body on Frame GM Station wagon like an Chevrolet Caprice Classic or an Buick Roadmaster Estate. then I plan to shoehorn in a Edelbrock, LLC. - Performance Crate Engines - Chevy - LS - Supercharged LS 416 (720 HP & 695 TQ) mated to a Automatic Monster Transmission, and some kind of upgraded drive shaft and rear axle. hope to make some great friends hear and get some advice on my build. Alice
Welcome aboard Alice. Good luck in your search for the right platform for your project. This will certainly be a unique one.
Hello Alice Sounds like an interesting project you've got planned. You will keep us all post as you go along won't you? As you get started with your project and need questions answered these guys are the best you'll find. Welcome aboard, nice to meet you.
thanks everyone. fell in love with the full sized wagons when I owned a 87 Mercury Colony Park Wagon. not sure what happened to it but was far from perfect. good example would be the end links breaking thru the lower control arms because the coil springs where so old couldn't hold up to the weight of the 302. only problem finding a old full sized wagon is because of the governments cash for clunkers program. to many good cars died then: sniffles. They're out there. Don't be in any hurry; just take your time, and don't hesitate to ask if a member can look at it for you. I did this for a member on FullSizeBronco, who lost a leg in an accident. After about three months, he found a '95 in the colors he wanted, with the engine/trans/transfer case combo he wanted, and with a lift already installed.
Welcome Alice. This ain't wonderland but as you look around here you'll wonder how you survived with out a station wagon. Take your time and look around for a decent wagon with minimal rust. The extra wait and cost will be worth the effort.
Greetings Alice, I am new to the website too but can attest this an incredibly knowledgeable group that will support you with your build. All the very best wishes that you locate the GM station wagon you seek and I can't wait to share the road once you complete the upgrades noted in your intro. I'll wave as you fly by as my 1960 Falcon will never make the 720 HP of your wagon and will be challenged to keep pace. Chris
Welcome to the SWF, Alice! Looking forward to seeing your progress as you get your wagon and improve it. Marshall
Welcome Alice! Took me two years to find my wagon. Being broke can really restrict a search!!! Persistence and patience! Can't wait to see what ya got!
I was debating if I should just buy a motor off of sumit that was mas produced like the Cadillac CTV's LSA (6.2L) - 556HP Supercharged Create Motor. Or would the Edelbrock be easier to get a ECU going on? What kind of automatic transmission should I have monster transmission build me and what Yukon Rear Axel upgrades should I do besides a posi limited slip?
Welcome to the forum Wish you the best in your search Have you considered the Buick Roadmaster with the LT1 ? The Buick's LT1 motor was slightly different from the LT1 placed in the Corvette. The Buick 5.7-liter engine came with two-bolt mains and cast-iron heads, while the Corvette's had four-bolt mains and aluminum heads. The Buick LT1 produced 265 horsepower, 40 horses less than the Corvette's engine, but weighed much less
Just thought of a car I forgot existed. Not good as old school wagons but still not bad option. Dodge magnum
