    "Hardtop" refers to the lack of a "B" pillar, or center post between the front and rear doors, so with all four windows rolled down, you have that airy, convertible feeling, but with a hard top... Here's a pic of the wagon with all the windows down...

    i believe I learn something new on here almost everyday. Sometimes I even UN-learn something at the same time I'm learning something else...I too have been informed on the term "hardtop". Good question!!

    It is currently "Hardtop Heaven" around here, with a friend's '58 Super 88 Fiesta sharing shop space with my '60 Merc... I understand you're a fan of the '58 Olds wagons! :)

    Actually, if we're talking about the GM Ionia hardtop wagons, I love them all, but my preference would be for the less ornate '57 models.

    Suggestion for you:
    Look up SWF member 'shelby18', who owns a '59 Colony Park (and a matching '59 Country Squire). He has a shop out in the east San Fernando Valley.

    I love 'em all too, but also have a preference for the '57 models, especially when it comes to the GM cars (see previous post :)).

    Thanks for the suggestion, I will send a note to shelby18.. My shop is in the same area. I saw his extensive restoration threads on the MEL forum some time ago and I would love to see his awesome '59 Colony Park in person.
