Hoop, is that a set of buick riviera wheels I see on your wagon? That was one of my choices for mine, but I had something up my sleeve to change them up. Looks really good. Here's the most recent random shot of mine. It just kind of sits in the garage right now.

Dug out my old moondiscs and popped them on. I'm thinking flip the black wall out, and a good 3" drop and it will look pretty cool.

It'll certainly look like you're racing at Bonneville....

Got the front dialed in for now. Moving onto the rear next, and flipping the whitewalls in.

It looks like you still have a lot of negative camber. For every 1/2 inch drop, you need to remove .030 shim on all four stacks.

Yep, that's coming as well. Very limited on time right now. Thanks Fred. Good talking to you the other night!

I'm not sure about these big balloon tires on the front either. Haha. Oh well.. in due time I guess.

What size tires do you have on the front? I currently have 225/60/17s with about 3 inches of drop. I have drop spindles and drop springs, with some 1/2 inch shims under the springs to make it drivable. The drop spindles make the track about 3/8 inches wider on each side, and that makes the tires really close. I am considering 235/55/17s for the front to match the 255/50/17s rear tire diameter. I can just get my low profile jack under the frame at the front door, by about 1/4 inch. With the slightly smaller 235/55/17s, I will have about 1/8 of and inch of clearance for my jack.

Do the shims to correct for negative camber, or you will have a lot of adverse tire wear. You can remove the bolt just behind the top of the wheel opening to get a tiny bit more clearance.

Stock 225 75 15 right now. Not sure what route I want to take with it right now, but more than likely I'll be doing a full air ride set up this spring.. so not too worried about the camber or anything. I will not be driving it at all until then anyway, but if I do, I'll probably run a 215/70 15 which is about where I want to be in terms of tire height. I appreciate all the info for sure. I've had 3 others over the years (2 roadmasters and 1 caprice) that ended up with air ride and wheels. Do you have a recent shot of yours? Thanks again for all the info Fred.

Nothing recent. I am probably not going to take pics until I get the hood done.

I sold that car about three years ago to buy back my '96 Roadmaster Wagon, that I'd had to sell a few years earlier due to financial issues. I love both wagons, but the Roady was my first love and when it came up again, I had to have it back...and will never sell it again. Here's my Roady:

Happily the Custom Cruiser went to an Olds nut here in Austin, and he still has it, so I can see it now and then. He also has an LS-powered 91 Custom Cruiser. It found the right new owner! Here's pics from the day he picked my car up, with his 91.

Oh the steering wheel is the Oldsmobile 442/FE3 Sport leather steering wheel, found in many Oldsmobiles from about 1980-1990. These can still be found in salvage yards or on Ebay. Loved it, MUCH nicer that the ugly and huge airbag wheels the Olds Whales got.

Had the same style wheel in my '89 Olds Custom Cruiser too.
