I is jist getting started on me 55 and today be doing a customer job...Not organized yet fer me pictures of 55 build...but here are a couple of me start...I is still working on the 55 hood and it is rough...I have a 56 Meteor hood that I nosed and decked that I am putting on the car while I is doing up a hood for it...will be working on the front fenders as them has some rust below the headlights...and need hood on car so it all lines up properly..to much writing here a picture of start up
Dang I thought it the car was laying on it's side until I seen the bar for the rotisserie. The hood looks to be in decent shape.
This is not the place to be having this thread but not got much going yet and it tis jist coffee talk so far this morning.... Aye Silver it do bring back memories of a different time....good memories...I had to go to work so did not git high school learnin...worked in me dad's rad shop and also worked the field's of tobacco in Simcoe...Went to work in the shoe factory (hoof & Boot) when was fifteen....only stayed short time at that and did the fall lift in Simcoe and went back to Perth and cause I could weld and fabricate metal started out with Doug Evens doing auto body as a carreer..
I'm not old enough to remember Ice wagons, but I do remember getting milk delivered to the front door. FF you are a master at what you do. sure you don't want to set up classes here for us dumb ones?
The hood has mega dents from both side's...I picked it up years ago at swap meet just cause it was a 55...nobody else wanted it cause of all the dents...some sharp one's right through...I will work on it and see how it come's along but it has to be good for this car...I is a lookin for better quality but will work on this for now...and with other hood on car can continue with other work on fenders...
As I get a little more progressed I would not have any problem with setting up a thread of the build...It will be over a long period of time as I has to do other jobs to pay the bills....and body and paint is a slow process....
I know what you mean it takes me time to do things too.I understand about working to pay the bills. But show us what you can and chat with us when you have time.
The ice house was just down the street a ways from our house. I would go down there on hot days and sneak in there. As usual...nice work FF...a continuing thread would be great. I want to come to Canada and build a little cabin right next to your shop so I can watch you at work doing all those nice cars.
It sounds like it could be good for both side's of the build...If there interest and outside participation it makes it much more enjoyable
save up yur airmiles and fly in...pick ya up at the plane place...ya does need a passport to git back into the USA...even if US citizen.I think...and if ya has a criminal record ya kin not git inta Canada....
I have a passport. My parents and my brother and sister and I took a trip to Canada when I was very young. Stayed in a cabin in the woods on a lake. It was a lot of fun back then. Probably the early 40's. If I DID come for a visit, I may never leave!....I think I would bring my puter, camera and start writing your book! I'm good at that sort of thing. But...I have so many things I want to do with so little time to do them anymore....
Well fulla's I is here and the door is always open....unless I on a old car hunt somewhere.......jist call to make sure I is here....
Thank you for the invite. Also if you ever get to NC look me up and we can go out to see what we can find to have some fun.
