Now bid past $6100 with reserve still not met. How high can this Fury wagon go?

Bidding is limited only by how big the bank account is, and the utter lack of good taste.

Question: How many Sport Suburban Broughams were built in 1972? Was the Brougham package available on the Sport Suburban? I would guess that if it is a true Brougham package car, it is a very rare model, and the body is in extremely good shape. Paint and wood grain, to bring it back to stock, and you have something really special in this one, and that adds up to value if you have 2 or more collectors who really want it.

Look carefully at the picture with the door hinge visible. The car was originally green with woodgrain (the trim gives that woodgrain part away).

Vagina pink on a '70s wagon is just plain wrong. But, there is a butt for every seat, as they say.

It's at $6,100 and counting. The car really IS well-done, just in the most hideous color imaginable for a large wagon!

IF this were my car, I'd do the following:

    1) Strip that damn pink off the car!!! I'd go with black, along with the woodgrain. Since the owner shot the underhood black (like a GM car), and the car was originally dark green (not my favorite color!), I'd go with black and woodgrain. Only a moron would call it a "hearse"! Tint the windows.

    2) Put the wide whites and three-bars on a '50s car, and replace those with chrome smoothies, Cragar S/S, or Torq-Thrust wheels with blackwall tires.

    3) Leave the interior as-is! It's very well-done and needs nothing, IMO.

A guy would likely spend about $10K to make the car right, and you'd be over the high end for the car...BUT, if a big-block '70s Mopar wagon is what you are wanting, this would not be a bad rig to go with. My wife would LOVE the pink, but she'd be in that beast by herself!

If I won the winning bid, I'd show up with a case of rattle can flat black, and blast it before I left the sellers drive way!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

He obviously has delusions of a buyer at that money...considering he probably picked it up for $6K or less, based on that last fleabay auction.

He is shady, basically. Most of his inventory is cars and trucks that are stored at his warehouse that belong to others, more or less on consignment. They are usually FAR better looking in the pics than they are in real life, and priced high. I've visited his lot twice, and was NOT impressed.
