You guys ever heard of this group? I think that's the name or it's similar. I saw them at the Gilmour car museum and approached them about joining. They seemed kinda distant and indifferent. Maybe they don't want new members....

Seems to me I've heard of them, but once I found this place, I quit looking elsewhere!! Why in the world would they want to be distant and indifferent; you'd think they would've jumped at the chance to meet some more long roof lovers.

Oh, Cat, I checked out your youtube posting. Pretty funny, especially the jump at the end; made me think the driver had probably been sippin a little of that "shine" before he made the attempt!

I thought they were defunct, on more or less permanent vacation.
Funny that when you click on "other station wagon sites" this one as well as GM longroof aren't listed,
Maybe we're just a little too rough around the edges for the Hemmings crowd.

    Edited to add:
I had them confused with Stationwagon.com.

Yeah, and those A.S.W.O.A. guys want MONEY. $35 for us Americanos, $40(US) for you Canuckians, and $50 for everybody else. Apparently, a small quarterly magazine is part of the deal.

I've been tempted to join (and I think a couple of us here may have already), but I seem to always find something better to do with my moolah......

Clicked on the link for the heckuvit. Hasn't been updated since 2004. Ten years later it's still there with no new content. I think I'll stay put. this is the best wagon site hands down.

Did any of our Wet Coast members see any of the meteor shower last night?

I saw a few around midnight, nothing huge but cool none the less. The moon and all the city lights didn't help also. Just before sunrise it's the darkest as the moon is down so I think I'll check it out in the ball field behind my house tomorrow am.

"At the Perseids’ peak on the moon-drenched mornings of August 11, 12 and 13, meteor rates will be higher."

They want us to believe it's "meteors", but I know the truth ..............

Very interesting reading and viewing Tedy.
I didn't know it till now but when I was up on the night of the 10th to visit my bathroom I noticed it looked almost daylight out the window which is on the north. I'd also noticed from the tiny gap in the south facing bedroom window what appeared to be a sunny bright morning. This was at 3:30 AM on the morning of the 10th.
As I sat in the bathroom thinking, the wall in front of me was almost like there was a spot light shining on it. This created a shadow of my head on the wall which would be east of the window.
After I finished sitting and resting I stood and looked out the north facing small window and over my garage roof. In that very small window of vision just above the neighborhood forest I saw what almost looked like a white sun shining. That was probably the brightest moon I've seen in a long time.
    Now I know why.
Also last night, night of the 10th which makes today the 11th. I had to visit that same little room at around 2:30 AM. My schedule changes depending on how much milk and tea I drink earlier in the day. I did not see the moon or anyone mooning me. However the night sky was again very bright.
From the north facing window I can see my garage and just a small amount of one of the white vinyl car ports to the left of the grarage, which is the front aimed south. The car port looked like a spot light was shining on it. Apparently the man in the moon was not yet high enough above the garage for me to see but was shining brightly in the northern sky. Again now I know why.
As bright as it was out both nights there would be no way of seeing space ships or shooting stars. But tonight I will check again as I visit the small room next to the bedroom.
Additonally only 30+ miles from our house as the crow flies is one of those star gazing buildings near Cedar Key, Florida where there are very few lights in that area. Mostly where our property is we can only see straight up because of trees.
So once again as I came here to discuss station wagons I learned about the moon and the stars.

As I saw Marshall's comment, we have been getting thunderstorms everyday, but nothing bad. Seems like the sky must be clearing up after dark.
