OK, so Bdsammies and I have been in communication with this seller not far from my house and I went and looked at this 88 Caprice today witch is priced more than fair IMO........ To be honest, if I was looking for a new wagon today, it would be in my drive way and I'd be posting "Look At My New Wagon!" What gets me is, it's been for sale for awhile now but I never posted the link because of lack of description and no pics!

It's not perfect, but what is at that age, but with it's minor flaws..... it's a F***ING deal and half IMO for the price!

Some pics to tease Bdsammies for the moment, I'll post more pics and my opinion of the wagon later...............

I haven't even had a chance to answer your last PM......... The owner of the wagon just called me to say thanks and told me about your arrival. What your getting, and for the price........ YOU SCORED IMO!(y)......now don't beat the crap out of the car on the way home, blow it up and blame me!....Alberta drivers, sheeeeeze:rofl2:

I don't know what Friday brings for me and I understand getting the heck off the island is important time wise for you but I'm gona try to meet up with you before you drive off....... onto a rusty scupper they call the the "BC Ferries":D

'Thank You for sailing BC Ferries, the life boats in case of emergency have been removed due to budget cuts that would effect management bonuses , hope you can swim....................

So I went and I drove/looked at the beast today. Laid back seller who has owned the car bout from the original owner 6 years ago. Purchased new in Victoria and still wears original paint and wood (Wood is in 98% condition) On a side note... why I like my "Island Life",,,,, Seller bluntly had no interest in going for a test drive, but told me to go. Once I flashed the beast up and started driving away I told him..."Keys are in the ignition of the Buick if you have to go some where"..... and I came back almost a hour later:evilsmile:, how many of you would do either, "take my car stranger"... "My keys are in the ignition, stranger"? Island life/trust and being able too is a nice thing(y)

The 307, the entire car ran just like my Buick completely trouble free on the windy up/down HWY. The only noticeable difference was a bit more off the line pep but I expected that due to mine being on propane (You loose some "umph"). Hugged corners well considering it's a boat on wheels, drove one finger with ease, brakes were awesome! Very comfortable 6 way power seats, power locks, all windows including tailgate worked perfect from every switch..... tailgate all and all worked better than my wagon! Power antenna is up, may be just disconnected or ?, been that way since this owner had it, previous owner put CD player in.

Non factory installed trailer hitch with air shocks.

Newer rad, water pump, green and clean fluid

Trans serviced a time back, blood red fluid,

Has a CD player with a boom what ever box that is stored in the way back driver side cargo box......... I didn't are to look at it, nor cared if the stereo worked....sorry:oops:... I think it was on CBC news when I got in so I turned it off:rofl2: I did though forget 2 things even after I asked before the test drive and seller said, "yes it works"........ I forgot to test the heater and A/C....sorry:hide: But it was such a nice warm and sunny day, that's my story and I'm sticking to it:p

I unrolled all the windows to just listen to the car. Then I started hearing a faint "screech, screech, screech" from one front wheel. I knew what it was and pulled over, layed my boots to the scuffed up spoked hub cab, and the noise was gone;) Bring that to Midas, $1000 before they even put your car on a hoist!

Needs a good de-dusting, the white spots I believe are doughnut stains on the drivers seat. They flaked away pretty easy............

There are 2 cigarette burns up front, look close at the corner of the drivers seat and the carpet. Owner does not smoke, said they were there when he bout it.

Dash looks weird in the photo, but it is in great shape.

And yes, yes that is dog hair on the headliner....... I knew the seller was a good guy;)

And some how a cigarette burn in the headliner. Has the third seat but never examined it close.... Car is still set up for hauling the very old dog complete with comfee bedding for the old bones. I opened the lid, it's there but needs a good years lack of never being used cleaning. (it's dusty)

You can see some discoloration in this pic, re- the way back interior panels. there is some sun fade and some scuffs over all from years of use but I've been there done that before..... a good spit and polish detailing will look like a million bucks.

    More pics coming.......................

It's dusty, but it's all there. old grime yes, leaking oil etc NO. Runs good, quiet and smooth:)

Body rust on the car is horrible though, I'd swear it came from back East, the rust belt............:rofl2:

Yeah, that's it for body rust with the exception of the passenger door by the mirror witch was not even worth taking a pic of..............

And then the dents.... NO BS, that's it!
..... dam, my Buick has other people parking lot dents all over it!

And then the original wood and it's flaws.......... the other was the size of a pin head.....

That's it, the one dog leg for some reason, but no rust under.........

Tailgate works great, but as you can see it needs a good clean and detail, bit of sun fade but can be cleaned up/shinning again no problem IMO (nothing is dry rotted).....

As I said on the phone, it will clean up but sun fade is there for ever on the plastic. I also mentioned some sun fade on the upper part of the door panels, where you would put your arm out the window. It's not magor, but can be spruced up with a bit of dye if you wash and then shop vac out....been there done that, still driving it;)

    And the bad, ...............

The center filler piece is dry rotted, yet all the corner filler pieces are perfect

And one headlamp has a small rock chip/hole.

EDIT.....You can see a piece of clear tape on the high bean side, on the passenger side of the car that is the,
"And one headlamp has a small rock chip/hole."
