This is a really nice station wagon. Good condition, wood grain sides and all! This is one of the last full size wagons produced. 5 liter Oldsmobile V8 last production car to use a carburetor. Interior is near perfect, tires are good. The best highway cruiser you'll ever find! If I can't figure out how to put a photo on here, text me for one. I'll try to add one next week.

Geez. It always amazes me that I could not sell my beautiful, excellent condition '89 Pontiac Safari in 2008 for $600 when I see these "box" wagons priced $3K+ in much worse condition. lol.

Oh yeah. Despite not being able to sell it for cash, in the end it worked out, because I traded it for an '89 BMW 325i that I sold for $2000, then took that and purchased a '84 Mercedes 190D for $1800 that I sold for $3300. :)

Their becoming a big collectors item I'd pay more any day for an excellent condition Pontiac safari then a Buick estate just because of the rarity. That's weird how your Pontiac didn't sell, I love these boxy wagons they are becoming so rare.

Oh yeah, it boggled my mind. I even offered it here for like $600 and no interest except from a couple of people, but it never worked out. This car was 100% rust free... it had never seen salt. The undercarriage looked like it was a year old if that. Interior was very nice (headliner was sagging, no surprise), beautiful dark blue metallic paint. The hood had some hail damage, but that was it. Nicely optioned with power windows, power locks, cruise, tilt, power seats, power antenna, cornering lights, 3rd seat, etc. Here is my little beauty. Looking back, I wish I had of kept it. I always thought of it as a Grand Safari, because it was high optioned, wood-grain and luxurious, but by '89, they were simply called Safari. lol.

Here it was the day I bought it in 2002...

and just before I traded it off in summer of 2008 I believe it was... (the front fender trim had fallen off by this time, lol). It was no detailed here... it detailed up very nicely.

I also had all of the hubcaps, I had some tire problems, lol.

Well 72, we all have had a "shouldn't have sold it", "got nothing for it when it sold".... I've had my share of them also:( Time to move on and get that 72 of yours to a shop and get the engine done by a professional before it's completely done, wagon included!.... I am saying this with constructive criticism, OK:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Yeah, this was quite sometime ago. I think I finally traded it off in 2007, 2008 or 2009, I cant remember. lol. I mainly stopped driving this car because it had a real issue with power (yeah another one of those, LOL). It had the 307 in it, which we know were not power houses by any means. It was a well cared for car before I got it from a family in eastern North Carolina. Sadly, I think this car may have finally seen it's fate in a demo derby. After the paper work was done, the guy didn't seem at all interested in the car and even took off in it (drove it home like 2 hours away) and the car had not been driven on the road in 3 years!!!! I always assumed he made it home. I had advised the car be hauled or gone over good since it had not been driven in about 3 years, but he went on. It wasn't until like a week after, I started wondering if he only wanted the car to derby it. He said however he wanted a car more comfortable than the BMW. Well it is what it is, I cant change it. I haven't seen the car since, but again the man lived about 2 hours away. I hope he (or someone) is taking care of it... or it has been crashed and already been crushed and turned into a Chevy Sonic. ;)

Yes! lol! I have done that many times. I cannot tell you how many cars I have had that I wish I had of kept over the years. My '72 Sedan DeVille, '72 Electra, '69 Caprice, '84 190D, '63 Nova SS (was my dads, but I had chance to get it), '78 Town Car, '71 Continental, '60 Super 88, the list goes on and on. lol.

Yes, I finally got my income taxes back and the wagon will soon be going into the shop. I have to get my Mercedes repaired first, then the wagon is next in line. Should be cruisin' by the end of March. :)
