Hi, I was wondering where the fuse panel is located on a '68 Mercury full size. The shop manual is a bit confusing since it contradicts itself. The draeing shows it to be around the speedometer while the text says it is around the glove box for Ford and Merc. The Merc and Ford do have a different glove box design. I have a '67 Mercury Commuter and it is mounted to the topside of the glove box liner. If memory serves me, you have to remove the liner to access it. Hope this helps.
Thanks! Wayne SavedURI :Show URL SavedURI :Hide URL http://www.stationwagonforums.com/forums/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=284828
Yes, the top of the glove box is right. One night I some how blew a fuse when plugging something into my lighter. Of course I was out of town. I was lucky to make it into a drug store to buy a cheap flashlight 5 minutes before they closed. Then, I stood on my head looking for a fuse box for a half hour before finally finding it in the glove box. Ford could have decided on a better location for the fuses.
Hi, My blower motor is inoperative. I figure I should start by checking the fuses and see if there are other fuses blown. At least I don't have to remove a fender to get to the blower in a worst case scenerio. That's one reason I like '68 over '69 and later. I do have a gas gauge that is inoperative. I have a bad feeling the sender may have a sunken float and a bad gas tank seal. The only time I ever tried to top off the tank resulted in gas dripping from the bottom front of the tank for over 40 miles.
