1970 Ford LTD Country Squire

Not a whole lot of info here, but it might be a good deal for someone. Seller is asking $1,000. Ad says it is "non-op registration." Does that mean you'd have to do some work to get a title for it? I see that designation a lot on California cars.

Looks like it has a 429 2V, which is what I've got in mine. Also has air conditioning; not sure if it is factory in-dash or dealer under-dash.



Here is the ad text:

"This car has a current Non-Op registration. It has been stored since 1991. Engine runs but since this car had been in storage for over 20 years it is unknown if there are any problems.
Exterior is clean with like new paint & siding.
Interior is rough looking but in decent shape for its age."

 

nice, just like the one we had growing up same color too. If I had room for another project this looks like a good candidate.

 

Non Op in California means it has been registered with the state as not being driven. This is done so you don't have to pay back fees and penalty's when you do reregister it. Otherwise even the new owner is liable for the fees if he registers it in CA.

 

I'd bet you can get this one back on the highway without too much effort. Change the fluids and filters, bring the braking system up to snuff, crank the old boy over on a new battery.

 

Looks straight and solid. Even the wood grain still looks good. Seems hard to go wrong for that price.

 

So with a non-op designation, that means the title is still good? That would make it easier for an out-of-state buyer.

 

Too bad this one is on the other side of the country. Seems like a good price.

Sounds like a really good deal but I wish there were more detailed pictures. I agree that it probably wouldn't take much to get it up and running again.

 

If it doesn't need paint, or rust repair, or rechroming, this would be a $5,000-car as is anywhere in the rust-belt. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up with a flipper.

 

'Non-operational' is just the DMW registration classification. Doesn't have any effect on the title ('Pink slip' in DMV parlance, although new ones are no longer pink).

Sold in less than 1 day ! But, even as a driver, a GREAT Deal.
I just hope someone didn't buy it for the 429 to put in the Mustang.
