Hi all wagon fans! My Husband and I are new to all this. I wanted a wagon instead of a typical mini van or SUV. Liked the Fords but hub wanted to use his ebay find hemi in something so this it! 1969 Plymouth satellite sport. Me, my Hub and two kids work on it every weekend. Having fun so far!!

Cool ride, you could do like a Roadrunner wagon with it!

:Welcome:Nice solid project car that you and hubby can enjoy for years to come. For simplicity and easy access to parts a Plymouth is a great choice. They have a fine aftermarket due to the popularity of Roadrunners etc.

Keep us posted on progress as we are all story and picture whores here.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

That's a great way to jump in with both feet. Your husband is a very lucky man to have a wife that not only encourages this but participates. This world needs more women like you. It's a great thing for families to do together.

I can tell ya that if he tries to shoehorn a 1955 to 1958 hemi, he's gonna trim the upper A-frames. The 426 would fit, and its lighter by about 100 lbs.

My dad and I did that with a 1958 392 Imperial Hemi, into a Dodge Monaco. 3/8" trimmed off on each side with Stock exhaust manifolds. Headers are a whole new world in that engine bay.

I think the 426 sits lower too, but you'd still need a hoodscoop with dual-four bbl carbs.

Sounds like a tasty project. Progress pics, eh? Oh and Welcome! :Welcome:

My husband is doing the engine stuff so I asked him to tell me the details...here's his answer to me...
    A 1956 354 hemi with a 727 torqueflite A/T. And it will fit because I have a sawzall

Measure! Measure! Measure! With Manifolds. Hood to engine mount height with Carburetor on. And get stiffer Torsion bars (Cop car if possible) That's a brute of an engine too, and I'm pretty sure it weighs in at about 750 lbs. A Small Block Chevy is about 450, for comparison.
