It's really conditioned air, up there. -10C is my limit for tinkering on the car. 10 minutes outside, 20 minutes to warm up. BRRR!:banghead3:
Good God man! How long did did the excavation take? I've had some amazing recoveries including loading a '64 El Dorado ragtop with a come along uphill, (took over 11 hours) but at least it was warm!!! I've always loved those mid-fifties Buicks. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. Also let me say thanks for tackling a car that most people would have considered a lost cause. CaptCarl
I wouldn't be able to wait either, even though mine's waited almost a year. Mostly due to lack of shop, equipment, and funds. Luckily my friend is going to let me use his garage.
The Buick has gone on to Dawson Creek to be res erected there...We were just instrumental in saving her from destruction...Did not want to mislead you fulla's so I guess I should have said more on what was a happening......It was an event I was part of and we have good camaraderie here in the car stuff and do things to help each other out....It was only twenty below that day and when you dress properly for the weather it is not a problem...There was three of us into this little adventure which went well......
When WE pull an old car out of the weeds down south, all we have to worry about are wasps, snakes and feral cats. Not snow, ice, and probably polar bears. I can see why you did it, though. Thats gonna be a beautiful car someday, just as it was 50 years ago.
I would love to read the continuing adventures on the '57 Buick's resto. It that a Caballero hardtop?
Yupper jist as soon as you said SNAKES you stopped me...specially if them makes them little bite marks or want to wrap around you... It is a Caballaro The Buick went to a place about five hours north of me....If I get a chance I will check in on it....
Good thing this method was not used to dig the car out [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOz-huHIRC0"]YouTube - Snow Tow Fail[/ame]
