1983 Mercury Colony Park - 4400 actual miles!!

Wow - it is at $8100.00 ---> update ---> $9200.00 now and reserve not met - Factoring in the travel or shipping it is out of my range now.

 

Too rich for my blood.

It would absolutely have to have an inspection before cash traded hands; but with what can be seen so far, I'll bet they are original miles.

You guys have never been to Sturgis, I'll bet. The place where you've never, ever seen so many low-mile and no-mile bikes in one place...and so many haulers in one place, either. You look at these pristine bikes with 125 miles on them, with Florida or California plates. You'll get guys that won't ride them anywhere, but will certainly trailer them everywhere.

Maybe the owner of this wagon is/was the same way about his wagon...who knows?

 

Some people buy vehicles to drive and some just want to own it and look at it, at a recent show in Dearborn there were over 40 Ford GT cars present, some were super low miles however the one that stood out had over 100,000 miles on the odometer.

 

Wow, its basically a brand new car from the year I graduated from college, and the year my niece was born (she's now married and has two kids).
The "4400" miles made me think of the theme song from the old TV show "4400" which was about people who disappeared and then showed up decades later without having aged a day. I guess that theme song could be applied to this wagon as well.

This is an incredible find ! Looks great !! Definitely one to get, if you got the wherewithal !!! NO BACK-BACK SEAT !?!?! I didn't know that could happen... Is it just a storage unit back there then? If the space is back there, the seats can be put in. I remember a member doing that with his mid-60's Country Squire, a while back. Once again, no "sell it now" price, so, not sure what the reserve is. It IS only 4,400 miles. Bought my 86 Colony Park with only about 54,000 miles on it. Cost me $4,100. It seems a little steep to me, at the "not sold yet price" bid, but I could be wrong... Once again, if I'd already won the Powerball, that really wouldn't matter, though.

 

As of this post it's now up to $9600. Funny how high bid keeps getting trumped by a zero-feedback bidder. Shill bids?

Well one thing I did notice was all the doors were photographed(panels) except the drivers door. And no pedal pics.

If I were selling this car with original actual miles I sure as hell would NOT leave those 2 important photos out would you?

And hard to believe even at 100,000 that the drivers door panel would be poopy as these cars interiors REALLY held up well over the years!(kudo's to ford my 79 has 122,000 and still looks new!) Save for the plastic's that got crappy in the sun. That's why I suggested it was meticulously cared for/always inside car.

Ok so I sent question on fleabay asking all my inquiring questions, we will see I specifically asked him to put it on the list!

If I had the money, and was determined to buy this car, it would be a zero feed back bidder, as I've never bought anything from there before. Let's face it, at some point EVERY eBay bidder is a zero feedback bidder.

Ok I really do not understand why I need call you for pictures as asked as you would just send them anyways. You are selling this as a 4400 orginal mi car but will not guarantee milage? Also it was sold in maine went to Idaho to a "collector" and was titled then sent to tennesee but the history report does not say anything about this? They jumped the title? Something here is not kosher!

$5-6000 it is a nice car but the reply to the mileage guarantee should of done it for all the bidders to negate anywhere near what the bids are now.

 

Personally speaking, owning an 85 Colony Park which is virtually the same car....these cars are well built and don't show much wear if you have a fanatic taking care of things. My car has 173,000 miles on it now and still looks nearly perfect. Most people that see it guess that it only has 30 or 40,000 on the clock. I could easily pass mine off for the odometer not turning over.
