Too bad it's been allowed to sit out and deteriorate like that. No telling what the interior or undercarriage look like. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Mercury-Grand-Marquis-Station-Wagon-460-police-engine-/171074642341
All that and full of garbage...good luck on the starting bid of $1200 You could at least attempt to make it sellable, but I guess there are no lies here, it is what it is......... Sad
Can you imagine living next door to them? Mattress in the front yard, overgrown bushes, several broken down vehicles, etc, etc, etc.
If anyone has a fairly low-optioned one and want to up the ante, this is the way to do it. Get this one, give it a GOOD going over and assess just what it does need. I have a feeling that list may be shorter than some expect. If the car is too far gone, it is a LOADED example, and that makes it rare, and a good donor for others to live on. Power door locks, power windows, power seat and cornering lamps, plus who knows what else is on it. It appears to have the deluxe interior as well. If I am seeing right, those are the high back front seats I see. Again, not a common option. They are very comfortable, too. It would be fun to combine this one's equipment with the solid body of a Marquis wagon. You'd end up with something unique, that's for sure.
What it needs, just to be sellable .... 1'st... Call Sanford and Son 2'nd... If Sanford and Run, call Hazmat! How are you going to assess it full of garbage? This is a prime example of how not to sell a car. Even as a parts car I would insist to the seller that the car better be empty of all junk. Looking at the over all condition of the surrounding yard and it looks like the front of the house!....... I've seen cars like this packed with kitchen garbage, Now that's a smell you will never get rid of, puts it in the same category as mold.... walk away.
Who knew!? The Bumpus clan from "A Christmas Story" owned a Colony Park? I wonder if it comes complete with the Bumpus hounds? Two words after looking at the pictures of that poor wagon, "Oh, fudddggge" (except I didn't say fudge)
