It isn't hot enough there yet to start blowing head gaskets.
    Fingers crossed.

No rain yet but it will tommorow. Checking the cap is definatly one of the "easy " things I will check first. I hope your gut is right Frank.

Back in the 80's, we had this beautiful thing that lived across the street from us. The car was nice too. She had three kids, and she drove one of those. We called her SuperMom.

On these Mopar Lean Burn cars, a notorious problem is the ballast resistor, which is mounted on the firewall. It's a good idea to keep a new in the glove box, as a spare. Mom and Dad's '79 Dodge Magnum lost power on the freeway; they were barely able to nurse it back home under its own power. It turned out to be the ballast resistor, and a new one solved the problem.

Yes your right and i do always carry a spare ballast resistor. Even on non lean burn they can leave you stranded. Swapping out the ballast resistor will be the first thing I'll change out in the morning. What ever the problem is doesn't seem to be limited to just one or two cylinder so the ballast resistor or distributer cap could be the problem. I did just go out to the garage and started it up and turned all the lights off to try and see if I had any spark jumping from the cap or wires and didn't see anything.

AH! Forgot it's a lean burn! Even if it's not the resistor it could sure be the LB system. Got another one of those black boxes that I forgot the name of lying around??:D Could be other simple things, too. I'm kind of leaning toward it being a simple thing. Anxiously waiting for the compression test results, though.

Well I'm glad I started with the easy stuff. I pulled the air cleaner off and right away noticed two plug wires not in the distributer cap. Not sure how they suddenly came out but it's fixed. Thanks for the help.

Oh I have alot of "friends" that would do that but I think what happened is the wiring harness to the leanburn box was not in it's holder on the air cleaner housing and when I pulled it up I must have grabbed a handful of plug wires. There is a bunch of vacumn lines and wires just under the back of the air cleaner that are hard to even see with the air cleaner on. just glad it was a simple fix.
