400 V8. Don't know that I would include in the ad that it gets 9 mpg. http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/3620741886.html
I wonder what all options this one has. It does have the vent wing windows, and they are not all that common on either the Dodge or the wagons. I have a feeling this may be a fairly well equipped car. Anything that was available on the Town & Country could be had on the Dodge, so the sky is the limit when it comes to options. If that is the only rust on the body, and the passenger floor is the only underside problem this could be a great wagon for somebody. Oh, as about that 9 mpg. Tune it up,, set it up and put on a good exhaust and double that figure for about $200 of work. Hope someone who loves wagons gets this old girl. She certainly seems worth saving!
That 400/727 would come out in favor of an EFI 318/360 and 500/518 trans from an early 90s pickup if it came into my possession. That should double the mpg easily. I'd be thrilled to get 18mpg in a monster like this.
What was the point of taking any pics perioud? You can't tell anything about the car other than it's colour and the drivers seat is full of stuff, but it does have rust.... All that and a bag of chips for $1500..... next wagon please
That just a little over 9 mpg is almost exactly what the EPA estimated fuel mileage figure of 9.4 mpg is for the car, and that's with a 2.71 rear gear. You could double the mileage with a tune-up occupant, why change engines???
Yup, and after the tune up, get a good set of mufler bearings (not the cheap ones) and you'll triple the gas millage:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
Drop in the 4.7 from a Ram, with the fuel injection and overdrive, and get even better mileage. That drive train will do well over 20 mpg (U.S.) in the pick up, so should do better yet in this wagon.
Yup, those are the ones! larger image Muffler Bearing $33.95 Do you have an annoying rattling in your mufflers? Are they sagging a little? Don't quite sound right? That could be the symptoms of a worn muffler bearing. Allow me to introduce the KaleCoAuto muffler bearing! It's unique iron-graphite composite with pre-grease-packed assembly provides over 200,000 miles per US gallon of smooth muffler operation! It is most likely they will outlast your mufflers. Also works well on heavy duty exhaust systems. One per muffler. LMAO!!
That 4.7 is a sludge monster, I trust them as far as I do the 2.7L Intrepid engine and the 3.4L DOHC V6 in early 90s GM W-bodies. Horrible engines.
Simple way to stop sludge build up in the 4.7. Full synthetic oil, and no sludge, then they last forever! I know one that is coming up on 500,000 miles, and still as strong as the day it was new.
