Well I don't think the wagon will be perfect not for that price. I and hubby have a saying here at home, if it's 80% of what the seller says it's pretty OK so that is kind of what I do expect. The guy sent very high res pics (3000x2000) of the car, and didn't avoid areas that had rust like the inner fender panels.

I just got the inner fender panels I bought and he is putting the new panels on now. I can't ship them in the car since I'm shipping it RoRo :(. Well when I get it here I will check it all, always like better to do things my self.

Na salt is not that bad over here kind of depends on how bad the winter is , but at least they aren't using liquid salt. To be frank I'm not driving to much during the winter, and sometimes I use the bus, train or bike -- living in London and some places are just stupid to take the car to. I'm pretty much a neat freak to and wash the car about once a week :). The Volvo V90 I had last year as winter car didn't rust under my care at least -- we still have it but it's has the wheel on the wrong side and I don't like when the wheel is on the right hand side.

Well well guys I will keep you all up dated when I get the car here -- guess it will be by end of next month or so..

    Cheers Dyna

Gosh you make me blush ;) -- at the moment I'm kind of lazy actually, I have done nearly all the work the last year or so while hubby been working with contract work here in the UK. At the moment I'm stalled since the garage is too small and building a new one takes time and money..

The suspense isn't killing me it's more like the boring part lots of expenses for shipping, duty and sales tax :( -- in all money wasted.. -- going to be fun when I get it although.. Kind of long driving a big wagon -- was a long time since the last time I drove a good wagon.... Kind of funny have several cars I barely drive since they aren't daily drivers :)..

    Cheers Dyna

PS: Where in the US are you??

Have some updates about the wagon. I got the first set of inner fender panels to the wagon, yes the first set :(. Since I intend to ship it RoRo I can't have them in the car hence I asked the guy how sold the wagon to change them for me (for a fee of course).

Got the not so fun email back that the panels didn't fit! Turned out they where for a 1985 Electra a Cbody and not a B-Body Electra Wagon.. So the hunt was on for a new set of inner fender panels. Got hold of a guy up in Hamilton, Ontario that had removed a set from his 89 Buick Electra Estate Wagon. What is even more amazing is that the guy instead of shipping them actually drove down to New York to deliver the fenders!!

So I have the first unbiased view of the car!! Here is what he says..

"I would say it is really nice, paint is good, all the chrome trim & moldings are in amazing condition, only real fault I see is the woodgrain isn't too good in some places. To make it perfect, you'll need to replace a lot of the woodgrain. It is still likely the nicest original Buick wagon of that era that you could possibly find anywhere, so you are lucky to be getting that one."

Sounds pretty nice so I'm happy, I was aware that the woodgrain wasn't perfect, it's actually visible in the pictures.. Ah now we can finaly change those inner fender panels..

    Cheers Dyna

Wow, I'm very jealous. That's a beautiful car and color combo, too. Only the "Dark Maple Red" with the woodgrain is just as pretty, in my opinion.

A couple weeks ago, there was a 1990 Estate Wagon at the U-Pull-It that's not too far from me. It is in great condition for being in a junkyard. There are dents in both front fenders; the headliner is falling and the passenger seat has a small rip in the seam of the back. It was sad to see that car there since it was in such good condition and it was fully loaded (automatic climate control, twilight sentinel headlamps, leather seats, cornering lamps, lamp monitors, etc.). It's white w/ woodgrain and tan interior.

Even more upsetting about this car is that that junkyard sometimes floods in the winter and for the past few days, our rains have been pretty heavy and should continue that way for the next week or so. I don't know if the yard has flooded yet or not.

I'm not very mechanically inclined, but would be willing to check on some easy-to-pull parts for your wagon, provided I don't have to swim to get to them ;).

    nice wagon

beautiful wagon, love the color. i have a soft spot for the buicks, despite my being a "ford man". it probably stems back to my grandfather owning mostly buicks up until he passed away. ( however none of them were wagons) my neighbor growing up had a brown lesabre wagon, and that was the first time i saw a 2-way tailgate. which...to this day i love...thats why im so happy i finally got my roadmaster.

Any gal who handles this car hobby like you do, doesn't need rescuing! :rofl2: A Brit would have to be one of the original Jaguar engineers to keep up with you. :tiphat: :29: :thumbs2:
