    Oh. I just assumed that everyone elses cars are more modern than mine. :rofl2:

    During the tuneup did you check the carb adjustments. e.g. Idle mixture and adjust to the highest manifold vacuum reading and ensure the choke is fully open when warmed up?

    The vacuum gage will also indicate if there's a blockage (reduced flow) in the exhaust. That too will lead to higher CO.

    Great looking AMC Wagon, I personally think it looks Great in White!!!! I usually only see Eagles in Woodgrain & with black fender flares no matter what the outside color is!!! I hope you get the emissions worked out, I remember going thru those hassels with out of state cars in the early 80's when I lived in the springs!!!! Good luck with it.

    Well, a buddy of mine rebuilt the carb for me and it was real close to the limits but still didn't pass. I adjusted the carb myself and went back and it was way off. I went the wrong way with the screws. After taking the advice of a friend I put 4 gallons of E85 in with less than a 1/4 tank. It passed with flying colors almost as if it was a brand new car.
