History, Good and bad...

I don't know how she does it but every now and then my Mom shows up!

I honestly have no idea where this came from other than, I decided to clean up our evil room (storage room) down stairs. Started sorting through stuff and found things of my Mom's (what she collected) in with of all things...old car magazines.

Way to many news paper clippings and life magazines to show but I snapped pics of several items in history.

Like him or hate him, FACT!!! Our best leader ever......and his wife sl**ed around with the Rolling Stones! Yup, it happened!









Remember when cig companys could advertize.... how many formula races did Canada loose after the cig companys who sponcered them, couldnot advertie there product?

 

This book is about 3/4 of a inch thick and dated 1965. @$14.95, thats a real expensive book for back then.

I remember watching to footage on the news,



I saw the footage on the news when it happened,, this guy dove into the freezing water to save this girl....
HERO!



Sad thing I do remember from the news and others may also, in a pile of wreakage that was slowly sinking, several people were hanging on for life. One of them did not make it but he helped the others to get rescued....hanging on to people from slipping into the water. One of the survivours said that HE said his legs were trapped, yet he still helped.....

HERO!.....RIP

 

This was a sad read, you and your family, poor, living in your car....

Cool Tedy, I'm way to young to remember most of these but I'm glad to hear you enjoied the stroll down memory lane.

 

Can't help but laugh at the Cimmaron. What a waist of a Cadillac.

 

I like your mom already, Tedy! That is some neat stuff! Some of it may even be worth something. I remember all of it and I would love to have those LIFE magazines! I was sad when LIFE disappeared. It was a great magazine back in the days.
