tomorrow is the last swap meet of the year........and.... i walked into Safeway and found EGGNOG tonite !!!!!!!!!! you know what that means?...right?........... and this cant be far away...
It's the START of the car-show season down here. In the summer it's too hot for this stuff!! The next 7 months are prime-car-fun-time! -Mike
Aren't you glad it didn't start 2 weeks ago like it usually does? Wow, this has been some fabulous fall weather. I'm still picking tomatoes.
Yeah, this time last year we were into several weeks of rain by now. Apple tree is picked and I have just a couple outside things to paint.... calling for rain by next week end here. Today is just beautiful, warm and not a cloud to be seen.
car shows go all year down here . met darryl gwynn at a car show last night and the best car shows are in the winter time
Yeah - 30 days ago it was in the 90's - now I gotta buy anti-freeze as tonights temps are supposed to go into the 20's! Chicago's weather is always fun!
Too soon, too soon.... Although our nights have started getting colder (a bit of frost last night), our days have still been very pleasant - mid 70's or warmer. We haven't had any measurable rain since early June.
Christmas, - I remember that. Why last year we celebrated it, in our trailer, in an orange grove campground, in Bakersfield. And that is why we shake our heads and wonder why our ancestors emigrated here instead of THERE Well, Tedy, you and Rev maybe, but SOME OF US are not hanging around for most of the dampness : We're coming, sans wagon, but we're coming.......late December we'll be :2_thumbs_up_-_anima Just make sure you pick it up in a place where you can wear shorts and a T-shirt all day, every day I agree it is too soon - I've not even started the wagon project yet and I'll need to get my butt in gear tomorrow or I will have to finish it up when I get home - Oh did I forget to mention that some of us go find the sun when it decides to head south for the winter? My wife's sister lives in Saskatchewan and a car buddy as well so we've managed to drop them emails with pictures of our work we've been doing around the house, making sure that they are time/date stamped so they see we are in shorts and it is beautiful sunny/warm here while they are shoveling snow -
Thank you Fannie - it is just that, well, I can only go if my people vet gives me the go-ahead in mid December so I have to mentally prepare myself for the onslaught of tests I undergo in advance of that. I always wonder if this might be the year they say sorry buddy but............... So, I talk it up, I think about it all the time in a positive way, I pack the trailer and truck, and I can't help but think that all those good vibes will influence my test results, my appearance when I see the vet, and the decision. And if it turns out I can't go, well, I will just go play in the shop all day and get the stuff done I should have before we left. But gosh will I ever be disheartened. We know there will come the time when it is no longer do-able and we'll be soggy dude and dude'ette like Rev and Tedy :banghead3: Of course then maybe I'll get a chance to actually have a coffee with Rev and a visit with Tedy. So that would be the very positive upside.
We all need to winterize ourselves... It's chilly and I like it. We've had a couple nights that I know of that have been down in the mid 30s and we still have the windows cracked. 16 years ago I was living without running water and taking baths in a clothes barrel with snow racing down and a windchill of 0 with only a sheet of plastic blocking the wind. And it was only up hill to the bus stop and down hill back and I always had good enough shoes. I'm serious, though. My parents decided to rough it and the only reason we had electricity was because of my dads poor health... I have always hated summer and I will sweat when it's in the 60s sometimes. Zoe and I, we likes it chilly and cold.
