I have seen this car for sale for some time now. I would like to know if AC is standard or an option on this car, as this is not in the ad. It is otherwise a fully loaded car, with all electric including seats, windows, cruise, central locking, having a 440 (was this the only choice?) and is advertised as having leather upholstery. Was this even possible?

AC was an option. The T&C Brougham had more goodies as standard, like the side turning lamps and interior/exterior trim. Leather was optional on all T&C models. Stereo systems had a variety of amp/speaker packages.

It was the Base Chrysler that was called a Newport. A Newport Custom was the base model then Newport then up the line

Yes, I mean the one at Boxtel, Rob! Do you know more about it? I found the list of standard things and the list with options to choose from for 73 here:

As far as I can see from the pictures and the ad, it seems that it has almost all available options. I just don't know about the AC. (Of course, I don't know which type of radio it has for example, or the heavy duty suspension, although it has the towing hook)

I actually drove that Wagon a few times, but can't recall about the radio or AC. I will go there this week again and will have a look for you.
What I do remember is it needed a bit of TLC: new weatherstripping for the doors, headliner needed some attention, had a few small dings on the left front fender (actually wheel well moldings were dented but didn't see the damage under it), front bumper guard (73 and on) were rusted

Wow, that would be great!! How come you did drive it? Anyway, if it is just TLC, I would be very interested. Considering it has almost all options, it seems strange to me it doesn't have AC, but maybe that depended on the extra costs and maybe the state it was sold first.
I would be very gratefull if you could have a look or even take some pictures? I know it is only 1.5 hour drive away from me, but I just never seem to have that time.

The list of options available in the 70s is incredible! Wouldnt it have been cheaper to offer one type of AC system instead of four? Another thing that amazes me that everything seems to be an option available on just about every model.

Yes it is incredible! And after seeing the pictures from Rob and his comments, it seems that this Chrysler has really every option from the list, including the electric digital clock which only deviates one minute a month!!
I am going to plan a trip...

Not every option. It doesn't have the optional cornering lamps. It just has the smaller amber front side marker lamps. But those can always be added later. ;)
