OMG something is happening this morning??? There are so many sirens going through town.

I live in a very small town pop. about 1200 and we are the centre for a lot of out lying communities. There are so many sirens passing through this morning. It sounds like they're coming from the next village...something bad is happening somewhere???

My sister used to laugh at me when I'd visit her in the city, I'd hear the sirens going by. She'd say "I don't even hear them anymore, you need to relax!"

Maybe it was an accident on the highway... Seems to have stopped now??? Wait I can here another one coming...is it on the highway...nope it's getting closer......that is diffiniately a fire truck...sirens and horns blasting...
I got to go see what is happening...I'll be back later...let me know if you guys hear anything...:p

Fannie??? Is every one okay... I'm getting a 'Pontypool' vibe from this. In all seriousness I really hope everything is alright.

She is over an hour from Pictou.

Local news said nothing about anything that would match,

It was a total lose. No animals or people involved, Three different fire departments responded that is why there was so many sirens. It funny how a barn can stand there for so many years, not being used for anything and then one day it just catches on fire?
The picture looks like it's blk & wht...not sure how I managed that?

Glad that is all it was. It is sad to see the old buildings with character and history suddenly gone. Familiar landmarks from when we were growing up and then one day gone. The fields look lonely without that old building that was there since before we were born - well most of us, cat and fox.............

Yeah, I know Fox. There's a lot going for being of an age where you have history of your own, not just what is around you.

We go back to our old home town and so much has changed and it blows us away. It ain't home no more - it is some place that used to feel good when we blew in to town, not it feels good when we are blowing back out. All the neat old buildings are disappearing - either torn down, vandalized beyond repair and are awaiting the disposal experts, or smothered with plaster over the gorgeous old architecture and painted awful colors.

We love driving down back roads and seeing the country like we remember as kids. I guess that makes us old. I'll take that moniker if it means remembering some darned good times, people were polite and caring, buildings were crafted and had their character built in to them, not slapped on later, and you could walk down a street and not two buildings would be totally identical.
