Does anyone know where I can find one of these for my 87 colony park? I want to put my coffee cups someplace and have a little storage. They make a lot of them, but none with a transmission hum that I can find. Thanks for the assistance. Max.:jumping:

I'd check all the usual sources - your local auto parts stores (the bigger the better). Also Wally World, et al.

You also might be able to find something that works at the pick-a-part.

Also seen guys build their own, using 3/8ths plywood, covered with vinyl fabric to match your upholstery.

Another option might be an RV supply store.

Got mine for the wifes S10 Blazer at WalMart. $10 bucks. The one for the 57 I got at Canadian Tire for $15. It fits the hump nicely. Both have a bit of storage, open storage, but they also had closed units, they just didn't suit my vehicles.

It seems they are getting harder and harder to find. The local parts stores here in Toronto no longer seem to have them at all to fit the rear wheel drive humps. If the one I have ever breaks, I plan to make my own, and be done with it. Also, the ones you can buy don't fit the Ford humps all that well. I keep thinking about screwing mine directly to the floor just so I don't end up with coffee on my shoes. Then again, I do tend to think of the T-Bird as a 'sports' model and take the corners at speed.

I'd be interested in finding one as well. I have checked Canadian Tire and Walmart but have yet to find one that sits nicely on the hump.
I seem to remember that Rubbermaid used to sell one back in the day and wouldn't mind finding one of those that would seem 'vintage' for the 85 CS.

Mite just be your best advise so far IMO:)

Finding one that fits the hump is one thing, but finding one that sits level is almost imposible. I had one in my 80 Colony back in the day when you could buy one anywhere. The problem is they don't sit level and are all but useless unless your coffee cup is 1/2 full. Put a full coffe in them and even on slow take off you will dump coffee.

I have the same problem in the Buick, fits but does'nt sit level...

I use the cheesy cup holders that fit on the window sill. I have one of the transmission hump ones in my Caprice, but never liked it very much. Makes it harder for the lady friend to sit in the middle.

I don't log in for a couple of days and y'all have your minds in the gutter! :banghead3::banghead3:

    Haha

Good point on the hump ones. Maybe building one isn't such a bad idea. I'll keep my eyes peeled for something.
