Who made a Slant 4 banger?

    I think Peg Legs might be onto something. The Pontiac Tempest had a 4 banger that slanted, if I remember correctly. It had a 4 barrel carb. The Tempest also had a rear transmission, so there would be no place to bolt a bellhousing. These were built sometime in the early 60s.

    Thanks. I found out it was a Fiat, and the lady might have the trans and transaxle in the basement. She's cleaning out her ex's stuff after 7 years of waiting for the guy to pick it up.

    I was gonna say Vega...they kinda looked slanted;)

    too bad it isnt a Tempest 4............they'r worth a butt load of moola!!
    they were actually 1/2 of a Pontiac v8....one bank was cut off and blocked off.
    One my buddies is building one to race at Bonneville:jumping:
