I've seen several in pictures. It's the real life thing that I've only seen mine.

I really do think that the Villager (woody) was higher production than the GS. Ford says they don't know how many of each were produced. Of course that guy in Ontario thinks he has the only one. I'm sure he too has never seen another.

Ontario, CA could mean Ontario, CAlifornia or Ontario, CAnada. That Roland guy in Montreal thinks he's all alone also.

So was the Cougar Mercury Division's answer to the Ford Granada?

Actually the Zephyr was dropped after the 1981 model and Cougar replaced it as Mercury didn't want to sell the low content Zephyrs anymore. The the Cougar was a flop and it was renamed the Marquis in 83.

The Ford Granada replaced the Fairmont on the Ford side I think in 1982 as well.

So, after writing all this you're right. Cougar was the Mercury equivalent of the Granada.

I'm not so sure of the front bumper fit on a Fairmont but you are a proven resorceful restorer.

I forgot the bigger hammer procedure. The Navy frowned on that working on 40 million dollar airplanes.

No sense of humour those aircraft techs. Good thing they don't have to send the newbie techs out for Prop-Wash or brass magnets! :D
