I reckon I should say hello. I have been a Pontiac fella since the late '80s, when my brother got me into musclecar rags. He ended up buying and playing with a '69 GTO for a while, which I now own. I also have a '76 Trans Am. Along the way, I've had a '77 Grand Prix 455, a '67 Lemans ragtop, a '69 Catalina ragtop, '95 Formula, '92 Formula, '92 Trans Am, and a '78 Grand Lemans. I've always wanted a wagon, and hope one day the right combination of opportunity and means manifests itself. I don't have a big budget, so that's a downer. Gone are the days when I was single and had a lot of disposable income. Those things thinned out just like my hair. Dave
Bull Dave. You are a slow starter here. Keep checking around and a station wagon will follow you home. It's happened to many of us members. Till then, just look around and get to know the members.
I am still looking for mine too. No one has thrown any rocks at me, yet. At least no large ones anyway. so welcome to the board
Welcome! I've had a few Pontiacs myself, including my first car, a 65 Lemans 4 door, a '72 4 speed Lemans post car, and a 65 GTO convertible. Wagons are out there, hope you find the right car! Arvid Svendsen
Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I was salivating over a '65 Catalina wagon that was on the Philly Craigslist for a while. Thankfully, the ad has been taken down, as I am no longer tormented by by inability to move on it. I need to decide what kind of Poncho wagon would appeal to me more. I think the mid-'60s fullsize cars have great lines, but a '76 Grand Safari appeals to me, too. By that year, the styling was less awesome, but the amenities and daily driving comfort factor were way up. I also have a fondness for the LT1-era Roadmaster wagons, too. Such tough choices!
Well this thread has made me realize that I really like these mid-'70s Buick Estate wagons, too. I hope this one did not end up in a derby. http://we-crash.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gmclass&action=display&thread=8625&page=1 See, what's bad is I start to obsess over cars. Then, I think about what car that I currently have that I could trade or sell to finance the "new" car. Right now, it'd be the '76 Trans Am on the block. It's a sickness. Sometimes, I wish my hobby was stamp collecting
Hows about a GMC Installed (whatever that means) 454 Pontiac Safari? I know MA isn't that close to CA, but it's a helluva lot closer than QLD!
I do have some appreciation for the '77 and up Pontiac wagons, but I have always been a '76 and earlier type of Pontiac guy.
