Boy - this one's got me stumped. I checked for Vauxhalls. They had some cars on the same chassis as the Rekord back then, but the body stampings were different. Couldn't find anything with Holden, either. Seems their vehicles back then were all larger stuff - mostly American - car based. I wondered if Daewoo would have maybe bought something from GM Europe, but no luck their either. I also thought that maybe it was some special Canadian Pontiac version of the Rekord that I'd never hear about. Nothing found there, either.

The only thing I've got left is that it must be some obscure european coachbuilder that bought bare Rekord's and then changed them - kind of what Shelby did to Mustangs.

Got it. A car based on the Opel Rekord, but which used American mechanicals. Competed with the Ford Maverick for sales in it's own country (that's a Maverick in the background of the rear photo )

Sold in Brasil, it was the.......

    Chevrolet Opala Caravan ( approx a 1970 model )

    It's definately an Opel.:slap:

But, I cry foul.:naughty: Certainly not enough information in the first picture.:taz:
That would be like us Ford Fox owners showing a rear shot on one of our wagons and ask someone to guess which year and model it is. There's what, 8 different versions between Ford and Mercury and they were built in wagon form from 1978 to 1985?:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2:

Good game though. Maybe wagonmaster can try again?

Stefan had me going on a wild goose chase with that last picture and hint. I saw the Maverick in the background and wondered if it was actually a Ford product. Did some checking and found the Cortina III built in the early 70's actually looked very similar. Still didn't find anythng to hang my hat on. Went back to the photos and hints. He said it did have an Opel connecton. Then I looked at the photos again - left hand drive. That rules out the Brits or Aussieland. I'd already checked everything from Germany. Where else could I go? Then I remembered that Ford sold the Maverick in other countries - particularly Mexico and South America. Wai a minute. Didn't GM sell Chevys in Brasil? There you go.

Here is another one.... but im sure many of you already know.... or if you dont, will be an easy guess.

Lets do this a little different this time. Send your guesses to me via PM and ill update this thread with hints and the incorrect answers. This will give members a chance to figure it out as im sure many of the regulars know what this wagon is.

I was thinking of removing the Maverick and leaving the reflection of the other car as a hint.
