This bike followed me home. It's a 93 kawasaki KLX650R. I haven't been on a dirt bike since I had a KX250 when I was 15, 27 years ago. Mid life crisis maybe?
great choice...now you need mirrors and turn signals and a taillight...your ready to rock. friend of mines dad has one...i think its a 93 also! he has logged over 200k miles on it since he bought it new. that is the unbustable bike!
It's an offroad bike. It's not too difficult in TN to make an offroad bike street legal, however I bought the bike in AL and they don't issue titles on off road bikes so it would be difficult to do. But I have no desire to ride on the road. Too many morons texting, emailing, listening to their IPOD, drunk, putting on make up, shaving, reading a book or newspaper, eating a bucket of chicken, cutting their finger nails, smacking their kids, painting their toe nails, watching a movie, solving a Rubix cube, smoking crack, having sex, eating a pizza, playing a trumpet, oragami, knitting a sweater or anything else but watching the road.
haha....mid-life crisis....sheeesh...ya go around ONCE....have a blast at being 15 again ! I showed my sister the new station wagon...sat outside on the tailgate and kicked my feet while taking in the breeze....ah...back to 8 y.o. Heaven. LOL !!
I'm not a 'motorcycle guy', but the wifey and I may get a quad or two at some point. Got some dunes over sea-side.
Haha, I bought a 97 Honda XR400R when I was your age Eagle, its a rocket in the woods, although I haven't been on it in a good while. Hurry up and increase your post count so you can get "666" off your post tally.
Yup....mid life crisis. But a cool one. At least you didn't bring a 19 year old girl home and you aren't wearing your hat backwards and your trou somewhere around your knees. I had motorcycles but never was an off road kind of guy. I have a friend that has one just like the one you just got, freek. Have fun!
Me Too because I love wagons !! This is what I Found last week and my wife wont pick up groceries in it, oh well, her loss !! http://i733.photobucket.com/albums/ww336/gradamos/1967 Ford Country Squire station% Dirt bikes are great family fun, we all had them and then when 50 started approachinbg rapidly I thought I dont heel as fast as I used to, we better put 4 wheels under us and we purchased ATV`s.
EF, great find. Have fun with it and don't get hurt! I was into off roading big time, back in the mid 80's. Used to go into the Pine Barrens in Southern Jersey just about every weekend. I had a Honda Odyssey. Great fun.
I've rode 4 wheelers a couple times and just don't like the way they feel. Not to mention if one falls on you it's a lot more weight than a motorcycle. A buddy had one of those. I used to love watching the Odyssey class at the motorcross track back in the 80's. They had some modified rigs that would haul.
I had a three wheeler before the Odyssey and, quite frankly, was very disappointed in the HOnda. I think it was designed more for the beach rather than the woods. I used to get alot of flats, (those tires were $80 a piece even back then), and it would stall out whenever it was at an angle, like when I was going sideways down a hill. I always thought maybe that would happen because it had a gravity feed carberator on it. Eventually, I sold it to my cousin who gave me a $200 down payment and was going to pay me $100 a month for 9 months. I'm still waiting for the first installment and it's over 20 years later.
Congrats Eagle, I never have rode a street bike or even on the street but havealot of good memories dirt biking. Have fun!
