It's been posted several times, just as hard to watch now as the the first time:mad:

Tha $ for clunkers took a huge junk of GOOD old cars off the road when it came to my island, now today, I've been hearing on the radio today it's back, $2grand no matter what and up to $4grand, fo $ for clunkers. Won't be long and there will be nothing left.

That's been posted several times in the last couple of years. It's a terrible sight.

If he gets out of office. You have to remember he was already voted in once on promises.

I have been looking for an inexpensive winter car, and can't find one. Between the cash for clunkers, the flooding around the country, and people keeping what they are presently driving, there are not many used cars available. What few that I have seen, the asking price is so close to the amount of a new car, it just isn't worth buying used. I have been trying to get my old '95 wagon going, but it just refuses to start. :(

That seems to be the plan, Fat. As mentioned, this video pops up here on the forum every now and then. It IS hard to watch.
We have a "global world" now whether we wanted it or not. The plan is transparent...soon we will all be forced to drive crap boxes of G design. (along with many more control issues) The days of the growling V8's are numbered. Everyone hang on to what you have. Even if they come for it.
The way that the G has taken over the people in today's world....I'm glad I'm on my way out rather than on my way in. I'm an American that lived in a great America. A country that admired and encouraged individualism. Suddenly, the opposite is true. You now are forced to be one of the masses and follow the path laid. Well...I was never one for subservience. I guess, if they come for my car someday, I will shout the words of Patrick Henry. Guess how that will turn out?

I've seen lots of these "killings", the Chev sure didn't put up much of a fight. Some others just went on and on before grinding to a halt, several minutes in many cases.
I'm disappointed the LT-1 quit so easy.

I owned a clone to this one and watching this hurt yet made me proud.

It makes me sick too. I think about all the beautiful, perfectly workable cars that have been lost... disillusioning...

I know that some people out there do it because... well, at one time, and not that long ago, I thought the opposite of what I do now. That newer is better and easier. Owning this Kia has done nothing for me if not shown me that newer is ****e. Which would you rather have a disposable camera that looks pretty or a quality thing that allows you to capture what you see with your eyes over and over to cherish with your heart. That is what it seems to me that the newer cars are... disposable!

What is it that they do to these cars... that stuff they put in the engine?

The stuff they put in is a silicate of some sort. I believe very similar to some of the snake oil type products intended to cure failed head gaskets and similar to the paste used to seal exhaust systems.
    Heat solidifies it.
I've wanted to see a post mortem of one of these engines but have yet to see this. The wreckers and dealers were all petrified of action by the Feds if any of these cars didn't see the crusher intact. As this was the biggest gravy train any of them had ever seen most toed the line.
This is what happens when you let fools be in charge.

supposedly the faster they died...the tighter the engine! so that means the lt1 was still really tight.

I pulled quite a few parts from CFC cars. The only thing that couldn't be sold was the engine and associated parts. I bought a rear end out of a Jeep, perfect seats out of a Kia minvan and some miscellaneous parts. It was a shame to see vehicles in perfect condition in the junkyard.
