Some cool old stuff there, Norm. I appreciate your efforts. Your idea is fine, albeit, clicky. Jaxed was a couple of clicks away each day with pix, location and date all right there to see. I'll never be satisfied with anything like I was with Jaxed. I'm going to be cloaked in pissed off for awhile.
Just saw this JaXed note from last week: http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/home.cgi So... (thinking again...) I searched for an alternate and got this forum: http://f650.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=8&p=435712 Which sends you to: http://www.craigshelper.com/ Which sends you to: http://www.searchtempest.com/ Which sends you to: http://www.autotempest.com/ Which gave me these 2 Subies: http://www.autotempest.com/#?make=s...y":1},"make":"subaru","model":"imprezawagon"}
Just call me the LINK FESTER! Only works with US Postal Codes, so the SearchTempest link is best for us Canucks.
Norm...you said you read this link last week....it has a post from the Jaxed guys dated today. Problem is, there is more to read but the word "more" is non-clickable. http://www.jaxed.com/cgi-bin/home.cgi Search tempest is one I tried (auto tempest) and is probably the best, but, a far cry from Jaxed.
The trick with the AutoTempest car CL page is using the distance from your home. Its a smart site. It gets your ISP ID and knows where you are. I had to use a North Dakota ZIP Code that I knew (State Capital building), so the Suby results I got were for the default radius of 250 miles from that ZIP Code. From Wisconsin, you'd probably use 4,000 miles to get the US West Coast and cover most of Canada, Cuba, Northern Mexico, St. Pierre-Miquelon Islands off the Canadian Coast (French Colony that looks and live like Old France) too!
I just read a bunch more of the letters that Jaxed got from angry people. Fun stuff. People are out for CL's blood!
CRS (Reading too fast...) I missed today's comment and scrolled to the August 26 item. I just wonder why the AutoTempest site isn't down. Slow mail service, from the CL lawyers?
SearchTempest is pretty slick too, for Canadians. I just searched for Ford Fairmont and got all kinds of hits, just on a 250 mile radius. http://www.searchtempest.com/result...1&category=8&subcat=sss&minAsk=min&maxAsk=max
Do you realize that Jaxed was the only site that had ads for specific items gathered together for our perusal on a national basis and included Canada? Except ... there IS one other, albeit, clumsy, without communication and you can't just buy the item. That would be eBay! And it only includes eBay ads. Jaxed pages were layed out similar to the eBay pages only better.
I only see one. In Fargo. Based in Canada....see....that may be why they haven't received the C&D order. Although the Internet is world wide, the attorneys probably aren't. EDIT: oh....and I find ST clumsy and frustrating.
It sure was a fast search engine. Check this AutoTempest search for Hudson Commodore. I clicked on the tabs to the other results, many that didn't even list Hudson as a possible car brand, then I hit the Automotive.com tab: http://www.autotempest.com/#?make=h...only":1},"make":"hudson","model":"commodore"} Since they don't allow a direct Display of their results, he's allowed to post the link to their results only. Might be a workaround for Jaxed? Yeah, I noticed that there wasn't anything, but this is WIDE Prairie wilderness. If I specified a broader radius, then I'd get some Canadian hits. Too bad I couldn't specify Fox-bodied Ford Cars.
