Just my comments on Rev's wagon - it looks good as I blast past on my doctor visits to White Rock - during the day when he's at work or out playing (does he really work?). BUT - as nice as these cars are and this one looks, they are not the hot sellers they are in other locations. We all know how difficult it is to buy or sell a car long distance, and that is compounded by the fact that these cars are still available pretty much everywhere if one is willing to wait a bit and watch the for sale adverts. Not rare enough to cause people to fly in and drive it, or haul a trailer a long distance to take it home. Rev is very active and well known in the auto community in this area and the car is located on one of the major access points to the US so very visible. It looks good as you cruise past. If he can't sell the car that should give you an idea of how soft the local market is for these particular wagons. The thing is, all this fellow has to do is send a buddy over with the jingle and none of us is any the wiser. At least Rev took the time to think it over. As much as you hate to see this happen to any decent car, reality kicks in. At some point like all of us he has to pull the plug. I wish I had unlimited funds, space, and an indulgent spousal unit so I could lock all these good deals away for my estate to auction off for cheap when I go to that great wrecking yard in the sky.
I admire and appreciate your diplomacy, Saf. The POINT is....we would like to SEE the car and hear info on it so we can make a judgement on whether our interest is peaked. This is, at least, true for me. And....the BLACK, wood delete Roady's ARE very popular and sought after. While we are kidding Rev about the car and his sales tactics, there is a lot of truth in what we are saying and requesting. The Rev....of all the people on here, with his plethora of experience,....should bury us with info on the car and dazzle us with a huge array of pix. We beat up people all the time, in a fun way, when they join our wagon family without pix. Further, we openly bitch about any ads for cars for sale that don't have pix or have lousy pix and lack info. He hasn't answered my specific questions of late either. I can only believe that he is very busy and is unable to take the time to clean up the car, shoot pix and write up the good & bad. He is simply not an unaware guy when it comes to cars or the sale of one. And, let me point out that, my comments have been jocular for the most part. I like Rev and know him to be a straight shooter. However, I felt I should offer some counter points to your post, Saf. He did say he would drive a ways to get the car closer to me and, frankly, for the price he quoted me I would likely go for it if the car is right. After all this time....I still don't know if the car is right. Or much of anything else about it. So, while your points about the problems Rev faces are well taken, Saf, he has created some of those problems himself by not advertising the car to us wagon guys in any proper way. Frankly, I was astounded when he started this thread about the derby guy. Even after that, when we asked for more info and pix, they have not been forthcoming. For the money, I think I would love to have that car for a DD. On the other hand, if it is viewed as only derby material, maybe I would pass on it. Trouble is, I don't know what the car is like. Good or bad.
