Hi again guys. The drivers hood hinge, will post picture later, bent to the side when i was closing it. Tried to fix but I think its a goner. Had to take the spring off to get it to close. Question is: Does a same year hinge from a ford mustang or other year mercs. fit? Did a search but i couldn't find any. I'll post a wanted ad for one now.

    thanks.

    Rick,

I'll bet there are a lot of interchangable hood hinges. That's something that wasn't redesigned every year. But, you'll have a difficult time locating a 63 Mustang.:rofl2:

Man. Do i feel stupid. Now, to show my intelligence, that would be a 64 1/2 mustang right for normal production, or...

(thanks for the original correction t-bird)

Not a clue... but don't tell the Rev.:) Yours is probably like other ford/mercs of the day, like TBird said.

Not to be correct all the time as I think that's annoying and also I'm seldom correct all the time anyway:rednose: . There was never a 64 1/2 Mustang. Ford sold 65 Mustangs at the 1964 Worlds Fair in NY. The Mustang guru's recognize that to differentiate between early and late 65's that they have been refered to as 64 1/2. The most obvious difference as the early 65's had generators and the later ones had alternators among some other very vague differences but important for restoration.

But the 65 hinges from a Mustang or early Falcon and Comet are probably the same. My guess.

California Specials were a 1968. Maybe a 1967. Side stripes and overhead console were a couple of key features.

It came that way, honestly. If everything was easy to get, never broke and never needed to be repaired, then i would of never gotten to know all of you fine folk.

I'm actually rationing out the damage goods so you don't have a heart attack. You should see the engine:rofl2:

Rationing out the roadkill, eh? Don't worry about the Rev's heart. He looks out of his breakfast nook every morning scanning the fleet of Falcons, and Edsels and Pintos and imagines Heaven as a second-class hotel. He's right too! No toys for the boys. :biglaugh:

    It's time for a story:

When Henry Ford passed away, he got to the Pearly Gates, where Peter was on shift doing the 'meet and greet'. Peter asked him what he did on Earth and told him he invented the Ford Automobile, built wagons and bicycles, and his Model-T could get 40 MPG on gas or ethanol.

Peter told him to walk down a half-mile and turn left to the Inventors' Room.

The first guy Henry meets is Marconi. He's all freaked out! He can't thank Marconi enough for inventing the radio. "We were just setting up Philco to get on with including them as options in our new models! So nice to meet you! Thanks again! What a great invention!"

Next he meets up with Edison. He's just beside himself! "Tom, you have no idea how your Sealed Beam bulb is going to change automotive design! All our new models will have them. No more kerosene lamps to fill! Thanks!"

So he keeps strolling and meeting other guys and finally gets to one spot where he sees this really old guy, who looked a bit Arab.

    "What's your name?", he says.

"I'm Adam", the darker skinned fellow says.

"Where are you from?", Henry asks.

"We didn't have countries, back then. We called it Paradise. But it was where the Tigris and Euphrates rivers meet. I think its called Iraq, today."

So Henry says, "What did you invent?"

    "I invented WOMAN.", Adam says.

"Well sir", Henry says, "Women are great for selling cars, but they are a bad engineering invention."

    "Why?", says Adam.

"As an engineer, sir, and for your seniority, I don't want you to take this personally, but there are some serious flaws in the design."

"How so?", says Adam, a bit perplexed, and almost feeling the adrenalin rushing into his loins.

So Henry says, "Well, first of all the Front bumpers are too high and back bumpers are too low. But the worst part is that the intake is too close to the exhaust!"

    Adam just chuckled. :)
