Finally got some pics of my newest wagon. Starting off with new plugs, plug wires, points conversion, radiator hoses, belts, and exhaust.

I found some cool stuff in the glove box. Original owners manual, warranty card, and metal stamp card with all the cars codes. Too cool!

This is the metal stamp card with all the cars codes. I have never seen one of these. I always check the glove boxes of classic cars with high hopes and low expectations. It was a very cool find.

Very cool! I have always loved the '70 Buick Estates, especially the ones with woodgrain. How is it optioned? Does it also have the 3rd seat or is it a 2-seater?

This car has it all. 455, AC, cruise control, electric windows(including rear), electric seat, 3rd row seat, map light. It even still has the factory spare and jack. The odometer reads just over 63,000 mi.

Behind the seat back and on top of the gas tank are two other spots to look for paper work on a GM. Funny how a piece of paper can stay on top of a tank for years n years n stay put and be nice, even up north. Found the one for my old/olds 80s gutless there.

never seen a metal stamp card too.
    dealers must keep them.

Wow, makes it even more amazing! There was a guy not too long ago with a 70 Buick Estate Wagon that he wanted to trade me for my 72 Kingswood Estate, but it didnt have woodgrain or the 3rd seat, so that kinda shunted me away.... had it been optioned with the 3rd seat and woodgrain, I would have probably swapped.

    Enjoy it!

Nice wagon, 2! For some reason, the 1970 Buick Estates are a fairly rare find. Having all that stuff still in it 40 years later is double amazing.:thumbs2:

I guess this might turn out to be a good deal for me. I guess GM gave these metal cards(protect o plate) to the first owner of a new car to keep up with original equipment and warranty. It should have all the codes that apply to the cars original equipment. It should also have the owners info stamped on it. My card does not have the owners info stamped on it. I wonder how often that happened.

I love the wood too. I would love to repaint black with wood but now that I have the protect o plate, I am afraid that it would mess with the originality of the car and also don't think that I would be able to replace the wood overlay.

Does anyone know where I can get vaccume line diagram? I want to replace some lines and make sure that everything is routed correctly. It seems that since it is not a GS or a Riviera, there is not as much info out there.

Well, If you don't have the Factory Shop Manuals for that car I would suggest getting them ASAP. I have found that the best place to find them is eBay.

    Great looking wagon.:Welcome:

No owner's name on the P.O.P. seems rare to me... I have those for my Wildcat and Electra with first owners on em.
Here's one from a 71 Riviera I have here (mirrored the photo):
