    With some work, that would be an awsome lil SLEEPER! I was lookin that over lastnight. Pretty tempting if I had the extra moneys.

    LOL....yeah...looks like they washed a Crown Vic and it shrunk in the sun.;)
    Actually, I always liked these wagons though.

    Yeah, my dad had an Aries wagon, 4cyl no turbo though. It was a good car until the rust hit.

    I think the woody look is cute but I don't like messing with it. I guess I like the plain one's better. Well....maybe not. :confused:

    IIRC the '81s blew out head gaskets sometime before 100K miles. Had some problems with oil pump leakage too. But...anything is fixable.

    For me, the only downside with the Escorts, et al. is the Front Wheel Drive. I don't like that about them. My wife is so, so about that too. But I'd like one anyway to have my Squire's baby version in the driveway, and puttering around town. She's gonna a need a car for her hobbies and piano lessons, and she prefers a Standard to an Auto trans. She likes the idea of the smaller Fairmont in the yard too, and especially a wagon! ;)
