I think in most places in the world customs and other security-like organisations, pick out people and packages based on looks or other visual aspects. I don't find this so strange actually, although they are trying to make it random, so nobody can shout discrimination/racism. What I find less understanding is that with this knowledge, still a lot of smuggling is recognized by e.g. the car they drive, the way they look or how the package looks. I do think it changes, but why would you still drive a bit too much lowered, too dark windowed, too big and shiny rims carring older BMW 7-serie when you want to cross the border? Why not go for Mazda 6 with a child seat next to you? But anyway, a few months ago I ordered a cartridge for my recordplayer in the States (for my other hobby; vintage audio). During tracking the package, I already noticed it stayed at customs pretty long, a day or 4. When it finally arrived at my door, I had to pay some import rights, but I also noticed it had been opened till the last piece, including a lttle sacket with a few M2.5 screws. I have had this before, but it seemed a bit more thorough including stickers on every piece showing it had been opened. And then it hit me, the reason for this search most have been the name of the shop I bought it from; "The Needledoctor"!!! Do they really think at customs, that someone from Holland (were drugs is legalized) would order something doggy from the States from a company called "the needledoctor" and write that all over the package?????? :banghead3: Jeeezzzzz......
