I just spotted this nice 3 door Opel for sale. That would make nice extra car, as parts are easy to get here. (It also has the same year of build as me....) Here is the complete auction link: http://link.marktplaats.nl/187277072
Where's the headrests? We had a few of those in Canada too. Sparse interior, probably easy to maintain. AND you get a box of spare parts! Looks nice.
Depends on the version probably, there was an L version too (Luxury; I wish everything was still that simple!) I think the US version had a different front clip, that from a Opel Olympia and was only delivered with an auto. It is registered at 800 kg (1760pounds) and with a 4cil 1.2 manual it is pretty eco- and wallet friendly as well! Asking price is about $3200,- US bit I guess he will let go somewhere between $2000 and $2500.
Never looked into them, but they made them in the town I grew up in for a few years. I was into big engines back then. 1.2L engine? Hmmm... Japan makes their 45 MPG CAFE regulations based on domestic cars at no greater than 1.3. I'll bet you could squeeze out at least that from that little motor. I don't think you could go too far wrong with a nice 2-door wagon like that. Especially with Euro fuel prices. You'd be able to keep more money in your 'Next Project Account' too! I gotta go pour concrete...
I was thinking the same, Norman. And there are many options a well, I mean, Opel has made an incredible amount of engines; 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.8, 1.9, 2.0 and most will fit pretty easily. There cheap as well, as there are so many! And with a curb weight of only 800kg, you don't need such an amount of hp, to make a snappy ride.
duuuude....go get it!!!! that a freekin neat lil car!! if it was here....i'd buy it!!.....i want it! ...and yes Normin...want...not need...
