Wow, Here is a story that took me 10mins to get over after hearing it. I was talking to an online friend tonite on Skype, he is into Derby cars. He bought himself an old Lincoln today that is ready for a derby but he was sent this picture of this Lincoln that had ONLY 45,000 MILES on it and the guy (his friend) had IT CRUSHED only one week ago because it was his mother's car and didn't want anyone else to drive it.:banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3::banghead3:
wierdly...i think i'd have one crushed before i let some loon Derby it !.. sad either way not the 1st time i've heard that kinda story tho....:banghead3:
Well, I see it like this..he could have sold it and given the money to a charity perhaps towards cancer research or something his mother would have wanted.
I was looking at that site last night and some of the pics almost made me sick. I've stopped many times and knocked on doors to ask about old cars like that only to be told "I'm gonna fix that one up someday"
That was a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL lincoln. Many people would have loved that car very much, myself included.
I know what you're saying. I completely agree. I've had three offers on my Caprice from people wanting it for the derbies. My buddy really ticked me off and derbied a beautiful 1968 Roadrunner!
Derby? Can some one provide a better definition? In aussie land, the only car derbies I can think of a "last one driving wins" type events. Please tell that isn't what we are talking about here!
Derbies just make me sick. I always have boats, 58 Chevy, 60 Chevy, 03 Crown Vic, my wagon, people always made me offers for derby cars. And I couldn't beleive it! Specially on the 60 chevy. It was cherry.
