I have seen allot of threads in allot of forums where people are looking for tailgate window channel. I have a 1960 Olds Fiesta wagon - it has the same roof as all of the 1960 GM wagons. I located something on the metrommp.com site that I think might work - it is the only thing I have found online that is even close to the original. I'm going to be the guinea pig and see if this will fit. I'll let you all know how this turns out. Meantime - if anybody has used this particular channel (metrommp part# WC 18-72), or has found another one somewhere else please let me know.

Steele Rubber Products handle lots of restoration rubber and parts. I just looked for your Olds and they've even got tailgate seals.

    Window Channel

I ordered some window channel from the metrommp site - looks like it is going to work for me. I emailed the link on the Vintique site and got a reply from a guy named Chad Looney. His company does manufacture this piece, but you have to buy it from one of his distributors. He hooked me up with a place in California (CW Moss), but the shipping from there to Ohio was more than the part itself. I emailed him back, and he said to try a place called Lobecks V8 Shop in Cleveland OH. By the time all of this took place I had already ordered the part from metrommp - but it would have been cheaper to go through Lobecks. Oh well - just throwing this info out there to hopefully help somebody else down the road.

    Update!

I didn't want to leave bad information hanging around out here so I must take back what I said about the tailgate window channel I ordered from Metrommp.com. It turns out it did not work for my application after all. It was the biggest channel I could find on the web - but it was still too tight on the metal frame surrounding my back glass and I could not get the window to go up all the way with this replacement channel installed. Luckily for me my original inner channel is still solid and not rusted out. Next plan is to see if I can order some thin felt from Pilkington and try to re-line my old window channel. The stuff from Vintique may work - but not if it is the same as what I ordered from Metrommp. Just passing along knowledge gained from personal experience.

I had the same problem with my Division bars in the rear doors (that little fixed glass part, where the metal bar provides for the moveable glass to slide up and down (window winder). Ends up that the Crew Cab Fords have the same 'glass run' (flock-coated mylar), but I got some stuff from a speedshop here that they call fuzzy, which is used to line the metal equivalent of the glass runs in GM vehicles. The stuff actually looks like the female have of a velcro band, which you can get at any fabric shop. Its a bit thicker than the original, but it does go in and does snug up the 'run'.

Just measure the depth of the channel and buy the right width. My piece came in 4" widths. One yard was enough. $4.00 and a couple hours later... DONE! :)
    Hope that helps.
