View Full Version : 1967 Ford Squire wagon restoration

I started the tear down first by removing all trim and bumpers.

Then we pulled the motor. Although it ran well, we have found some "issues" that we wanted to take a closer look at. We are hoping to only freshen up the motor and replace all the gaskets. We are planning to do the same thing with the Cruis-O-Matic trans.

The car goes to soda blasting as soon as I am done removing all the trim. I am going to detail the engine compartment before it goes to paint.

Looking at the picture the trim is still there. I read somewhere that using a old bottle opener works id you use tape on it to protect the trim.

I found out quickly that the gutter trim was best left to the professionals!

Any trim you still see in the pics is coming off when I stop off at the body shop before it goes to soda blasting.

I have no idea how to get that trim off without ruining it. I will pass along the bottle opener idea to the shop to see what they think.

When I had the car at the body shop to see if it was worth restoring, they really did not seem to think it was a big deal to get the trim off the gutters.

The top of the car was baked in the Southern sun for for 40 years. Yep, there is rust on the roof, hood, and fenders.

The underside is so nice. I was close to parting it out until we put it up on the lift and saw all the good parts.

The parts on top as you know can be dealt with.:bouncy:

It sounds like you've got a good bunch of guys on the body restoration, and with the underside intact, you'll end up with a lion's pride ride! :)

Henry was one of the first manufacturers to apply 'parts rationalization' and standardization across models, especially within the same lines or factories. So the clips from one model of a full-size are usually replaceable with another full-size bit of hardware.

GM glommed onto Henry's efficient tricks with each brand they bought up, so in Canada, Chevy, Olds, and Pontiac cars shared Engines, Trannies, exhausts, wheels - non-cosmetic stuff.

My own car, built in Mexico's only Ford Assembly Plant, has a hooped headliner, a points ignition and other details that aren't built into American or Canadian built Fairmonts. They built Granadas on the Mexican line, and so mine has a headliner from the Granada wagon, sized to the Fairmont wagon.

DON'T try to get to the guy's home page! He's a site programmer with poor Java coding. When I tried, it locked up the browser (IE7) on XP-Pro with all updates. I mean locked up - I had to CNTRL-ALT-DEL to get out and reboot!

I always enjoyed following other restorations with pics. I promise to keep posting new pics as we move along.

Update on a parts find:

I struck gold and found a mint re-chromed rear bumper for the car as well as a solid used tailgate.

My tailgate is rusted almost beyond repair. I did find a complete 3rd seat option but its just under $500 and I am not sure if I am going to get that or not. I would love to have the facing seats in the back. That is what makes the wagon!

I have decided to go with non OEM seat covers from http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/ (http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/) although I will still use the original color saddle.

I just cannot justify trying to buy the original fabric and having the covers made. They are tough to find prefab since they are not the same as the Galaxie cars.

We are going to use Saddle and I will repaint/dye the door panels and trim to their original color. I also am looking to use them to make a headliner for me too. I may go with a lighter carpet than the original dark brown.


The exterior is going to be the original Burnt Amber, with the 67 woodgrain down the sides. I am still thinking of painting the faux trim to make it look like wood. If not I will paint it off white or whatever the color was originally.

As far as those now famous wheels, they are staying on until the car is done. I have a lot of other fires to put out during this process so those my be the last thing I find.

Information Overload!!!

I ran and owned some furniture and upholstery firms, and did a couple of my cars years ago. When I got to this one, it had been like 22 years before when I'd done any of this, so I decided to start again, like I knew ZIP. Even today's modern methods are really different - Heat sealing vinyl accent moldings was just barely coming into its own. Your's probably has real chrome parts with pins to hold them onto the door panels, my 1979 has them heat embedded into the vinyl.

So forgive me if I overload you with info, but it might be of value to you and others. Here goes.

Tearmender (excellent and cheap), I got mine from a camping retailer:

The only caution about the SEMS vinyl dye is that it goes on in very thin coats. It flashes in seconds, so you can standby. Don't do big areas in one sweep (1 sq ft is enough). Secondly, shake well before using. If not, you'll get like a ROXOTONE mottled spray. It smells like a degreaser cleaner, and can be noxious to sensitive folks, so do it in the garage or backyard, outside of sunlight, until its dry. And you can use it on carpets, but the fibres will stiffen a bit. It comes out darker than the vinyl application areas, but it does look sharp and matches well.

On fabrics, I think another product could be used or they'll likely be 'rough' textured until they get rubbed a bit.

Also, finding D-Rings can be a real bear, unless you can find a good shop to sell you about 150 or so. They aren't expensive, just hard to find.

I do mean hog rings, but up here they call them D-Rings or Fencing Staples (barbed wire).

One more thing on the hog-rings. I said about 150, but if your adding rear rumble seats, make it 200. They can't be more than $10 to $15 dollars. I've seen them here at $5.00 per 100.

The Fence Staples come in Galvanized or not. The metallurgical problem with galvanized wire is that it loses its tensile strength. Since they'll be rubbing and scraping on steel frames, they won't last. You're better off getting some with the alodined finish or soaking untreated ones in a small bowl of Por15's Metal-Ready for 10 minutes, rinse them off in water and they're ready to use. Most bodyshop supply shops.

I say that because a lot shops don't like selling to a DIYer. So with the alternative, that may work better.

IIRC, the older Full-sized Ford Wheels had a notch on the back side of the hub to activate the trigger that disabled the signal lever/switch.

Its another trip through the hobby's online museum. Where have the artists gone in this industry? So many lost arts... :bawling:

Thanks. It's just that he's doing an equally low-level, down to the rivets strip-down, and I know where the pot-holes are, so I figure he'll have a better shot at following through to a proud finish if he's well-armed with good pot-hole tools.

I will explain where my brother was coming from.

In the movie Vacation, Clark Griswold falls asleep at the wheel and gets lost East St. Loius. While asking for directions, his hub caps get stolen and the Family Truckster gets sprayed painted with the words honky lips.

Stormin and tbirdsps, did you see the movie?

I took it well, and had a laugh after a while as well. There is no harm to the wagon, I promise it will be fine. :dancing:

My wife Jodi is not laughin since it is going to be flatbedded to my house where my entire neighborhood will see this POS getting dumped into my garage with spray painted HONKEY LIPS on the sides.

I am going to bet most wont get it!

Ya it is funny. I got a call from my brother this am telling me that he was about to send me a pic on my phone. He said it was about my car and it wasnt good. I was guessing it caught on fire.

I've heard it applique'd to Ukrainians here 30 years ago. It doesn't taste any better with aging.

Restores my faith in human kindness. Sorry about my pre-judgement, if you're ok with it, who am I to comment. Wagon Update:

I am going to try to upload the video of me rolling the car backwards down a hill to gain momentum to get it up my driveway into my garage. It almost worked but I ran out of momentum and we had to get a large tractor to push it up the driveway into my garage. I

If anyone knows how to convert a cell phone video from 3GP format to AVI or MPEG format, let me know! It is very funny to watch.

I will be uploading pics of the engine compartment, and the progress as I clean and detail it. I am still tearing out small components today.

The cruise o matic is at the transmission shop getting a good once over and new seals.

Fixed the audio!

Anyway, you can see up the hill where we are starting on my street. I rolled the car off of the flatbed without an engine or trans and very soft brakes. We tired to keep the momentum to get it into the garage but only made it up the driveway. :whew:

We had to push the car into the garage with a large Kubota tractor.

I will give you guys some of the behind the scenes updates that have occurred over the last 2 weeks.

The first setback was the transmission. I took it to a notable transmission shop to have it looked over, new seals and gaskets and to freshen it up. Apparently there was nothing fresh in there! It was all rotten. Its repairable, but it needs many parts but the most noteworthy are both drums, and servos are all shot. That is going to run me about $1200.:banghead3:

Second setback. I did not tell you guys this in the beginning but the main reason I pulled the motor was that when we had the car up on the lift, we found that the block had a JBweld patch on the side of the motor which was weeping small drips of coolant.
Once we took off the patch, we found a 4 inch small crack. We tried to have it professionally repaired, but sadly enough the cast iron just continued to spider web into multiple cracks. The block is gone and I am without a motor and not very happy.

I was at a turning point and gave it 2 days to decide whether to part the car out or continue on. I know that the engine and transmission are not big deals, but all the small issues and the big ones are adding up quite a bit. I had no idea how hard it was to find parts for these wagons.

Needless to say, It has all added up to more than I ever thought.

That's precisely the lump I had in my throat when I blew my own 302 in my wagon, in my own yard, tuning it up. What now? Do I get the donor car, do I just swap motors, where to go. A million doubts and a vision and direction brewing on the backburner. I'm glad I went ahead with it.

Like I said in another thread today, the Retro Look and Feel of these machines just isn't an option. We've got history in our hands, and I think I took the right leap of faith into this deep pit of expense, and effort. Looks like the road less travelled, again. :)

Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are having.I just had a friend to scrap a running 352 that he pulled out of a 1 ton truck. 352,360 gets really bad gas mileage but a 390 does better and they are always on craigslist here.

Sorry Rafa, you know it's a tough balancing act with the stuff you've already dealt with. I lucked out with the donor parts car - it was the tipping point that pushed me into this project. Made it affordable and doable, for me. The Roller Paint job allowed me to do a decent job. :D

If I had to drop the $3,100 they wanted for a rebuilt engine AND $6,000 for paint, I would have scrapped it. But I got the interior done, a more efficient engine, and added at least 10 years of reliability to it. If I total it all up, I don't think I spent more than $1,500 in cash, and about 2,000 hours actually working on the car, and another 1,200 finding information, reading the manuals, and wire-brushing the small parts.

It's been a good exercise for me. I re-learned some old skills and gained a whole bunch more. Don't regret one single moment. Plus, I can fix almost anything on this car without paying huge service bills. :)

I went something like this 2006 with my 8 year old Nissan 200SX. I loved the car, but things kept breaking, it was starting to rust, needed tires, brakes.
I needed reliable daily transportation so I got rid of it and leased my Mazda 3.

Some days I regret selling the car and get nostalgic when I see one on the street and wish I would have kept it.

We we able to find a new completely rebuilt motor with the correct 67 390 block for the wagon! It has rebuilt 64 heads on it and should run very well.

I have to figure out the engine color. I have seen some 66 ford wagons have a black block with blue valve covers, and air cleaner. So I am not sure if the block for the 67 should be dark ford blue or black. I have been told by some that they thought the entire engine was dark blue in 67

I will post pics when the new motor gets to the shop.

Its been a while sine I have given you guys an update:

Thankfully, I decided to remove heater box: I think this is why the prior owner threw in the towel on it or would it be the cracked JB welded block?

Anyway, he replaced the heater core, and had to see the rust around the mating surface of the firewall. I'm not worried, It can be fixed.

Just rollin with the punches.

Removed most of the dash, and tar like carpet pad.

Found floor rust under drivers side floor. Dont worry it can be fixed..lol

Under dash, found all hvac vaccum lines blocked and hvac doors zip tied open/shut. HMMM what temp of air would you like....how about medium hot. Dont worry I'll fix it. Just need 3 new vaccum hvac motors.


Purchased correct 1967 remanufactured 390 (the original cracked motor could not be salvaged)

Completely rebuilt MX original transmission since it was rigged and needed all new drums it may have lasted another 300 miles. Cant beleive my brothers made it 500 miles from NC with this car.

Engine bay/front clip stripped ready for chassis black.

Waiting for a clear day and help getting the wagon from my garage to the shop to paint engine bay and install new motor and transmission.

From there its going to get soda blasted and then to the body shop.

New purchases:

Complete salvaged tailgate assembly. Rusty, but 75% less then the original.

Complete third seat assembly to convert the wagon to a 10 passenger. Got to have the third seat! I figured, what the heck, I am going to make it the way I would have ordered it. I will still stick to stock specs in what ever I update.

I will post some pics soon.

Did that Tar thing come out right or useable? It's your firewall sound-proofing. Also, I don't remember if your year came with the floor soundproofing but it's a good addition. My 1979 had AC, with extra insulation, factory undercoating, and that floor material. The AC doesn't work as hard, the road noise and engine noise are really cut down too.

A bit pricey ($6.00/sq ft) but there are more expensive. Paintable too.

Yeah, the emblems say 390. The factory belched it out with a 390-2V, but the last owner saw to put a 428 with some CJ parts and a 427 Interceptor intake and correct-spec Holley. It indeed moves out smartly. Scares the kids. ha

And a hat-tip to the nice words on the look. You will LOVE when yours is done!

It's still too cold to do much, but I look at every morning from the back window, and it barely has any evidence that all our snow ever touched it. I did a good wax job! Can't wait to get it done! :thumbsup:

Finally was able to get the Squire out of my garage and over to the body shop for some final disassembly. They are removing the trim that I was unable to get off myself. Specifically the windshield and side rear windows as well as the trim along the roof drip rail. They were not hopeful they could save the chrome strip but we will see.

I am guessing it should be on its way to soda blasting within the week then we will see what we are dealing with.

I will post some more pics when I get to the shop.

The wagon made its way to the body shop where they were able to successfully remove 99% of the trim, Ac evaporator, and glass. Also we found no other rust or surprises.

From there, we transported the wagon to media blast where they are going to soda blast the entire car including the underside.

After that it will be painted in epoxy primer.

We have also decided to replace the dry rotted frame/body mounts since I have a severe case of... "you might as well do this..do that while your at it!"

It appears to be going well. The last major issue will be finding how thick or thin the roof and hood metal is.

I will get some pics once its in epoxy primer.

In the meantime, I have been busy at home using my blasting cabinet cleaning various underhood parts and repainting them black. Also degreasing the remnants of the engine and misc. parts.

Hey, you may want to check some of those parts and find out whether some should indeed be black or if they're supposed to be 'natural' or 'phosphate' or whatever. You can get some coatings from Eastwood or other vendors that will make those pieces look natural and stay that way.

Just a thought, but you'll be happier, I think, when you see some contrasts of different finishes under there. It really will set it off and make your hard work that little bit more satisfying.

It's not about going concours or anything like that, but since you're doing a whole tear-down, and you have to coat those bits you're blasting, it's the difference of one can of spray or another.

And hang in there...can't wait to see your progress!

We have made a lot of progress in the last few weeks. Here are some pictures of the wagon after it was picked up from Rocky Mountain Garage in New Stanton Pa. Jeff soda blasted the entire car. Including the undercarage and interior. The wagon was then painted in epoxy primer and sent on its way to Johhny Mocks Auto Body in Monroeville Pa for the next steps.

Now the fun begins.

By the way, the wagon will be getting all new body mounts, so yes the frame will likely come off.

Epoxy Primer, eh? How many coats? What brand? Was it baked too or air-dried?

It makes sense. A good tough finish will minimize the scrapes and knicks poking back to bare metal while you reassemble.

So far the consensus for the correct 1967 engine color is Duplicolor's Ford Dark Blue 1606. Ford started using this color in 1966. Does everyone agree?

There is also Old ford blue 1621, and Ford blue 1601.

Don't want to go thru all of this and paint the engine the wrong color.

Now that you've painted the Mobile Rembrandt in Rolling Ash, you might find this site really useful for detailing the Dash or Gauges or other surface materials. :D

I showed my wife your good work, and she wanted to know if you were enroute, if we drive down to her parents in North East Mexico. She went to my car, and back to your pics 3 times! She was diplomatic, but you got the number one spot, from both of us. Impressive! I did all mine in one day, but far less than 94 pieces. I think it was 28 or so. Anyway this is not an Automotive site. Its a model, miniature, all materials, non-artistic, but sort of artsy-fartsy site - the kind that inspires other methods.

Really not as many "Cubic Dollars" as you may think. I am doing the lions share of work myself. All of the detail work is above what I figured I would be doing on this car, but since its all apart, I cant help but fix what I see. I have restored motorcycles for years and this is my first car. The body work and body paint is the majority of what I did not have the ability to do.

Te parece? referred to the cubic dollars. No restoration of any depth is without some major cash layout. I saved about $8,000 doing my own woodgrain, woodgraining on my mouldings and my Roller Paint job, AT LEAST. What you've shopped out is likely in that range or a couple long ones more. I didn't do any sand blasting, for instance.

$arge was astounded at what it appeared to cost to get it done by pros. My comment was asked him if that appeared to be a lot of dollars out of pocket. Some tasks are really hard to do without the investment in space (my problem without a garage) or specialized tools and equipment.

Once you're done that one in concours condition, you could do like our other Ford Fleet maestro, the Rev, and add to this gem, as far as my Jay Leno remark.

I do commend you on the level of detail that you bring to this massive project, and I'm glad to see that you put your own skills and talent to it. That's how I am with the hobby and I celebrate that with any, like yourself, who invest themselves in doing the best they can, at whatever level of skillsets they might have.

Hence my constant watch to see how yours is coming along, and if there's any way I can help advance it.

Some folks come for a quick sale of whatever they think us wagon masters might want. Some come for a quick solution to an immediate issue. The real hobbyists are the ones that get deserved attention and support. I support your project sincerely. Its well done, and from what you started with, amazing.

I had no idea this project would go this far. One thing has lead to another. I have a hard time just leaving something go that I know I can fix. For example, I tore apart the alternator since it looked like crap even though it worked well. It looks brand new now and still works great. (saved $285 by cleaning and repainting)!!!

It was origninally Burnt Amber (looks like a bronze or copper color). It is the same color as CMPRSD's (Hal's) awsome farline squire pictured in micks woodgrain section which is seen below.
Right now I am planning on going original since the cars interior is saddle and It is a unique color.

It does look mint! I did the insides of my plastic lense cases with Krylox Chrome to get the reflective quality back to snuff. It sticks better on plastic, after you use a plastic cleaner. Found out the hard way.

We are really not doing much other than stock. I just went up slightly with the cam...mild...and the heads..well that is the way the shop builds the 390 for the passenger car. We should be around 300 hp..but i decided for multiple reasons to stick with the original intake and 2bbl carb..it was not an easy decision. Should have excellent throttle response.

Thanks for the suggestion but this is going to be a light driver for my wife. It will have plenty of power.
What I do need is the original air intake for it if anyone has a 66-67 let me know.

Finding a numbers matching factory intake might be near impossible? But a Edelbrock flows a little better than factory if you just get the basic intake.

When I said I needed the air intake I meant the entire air cleaner assembly. The lid, snorkle and bottom. I will find one.
I am keeping the original 2 barrel intake and carb.

Good point. We will be painting the entire engine once its assembled. I think the block was black in 66 and earlier. Blocks in 67 were all ford blue. The timing cover has already been painted. I wanted the intake and valve covers painted first so I could make them look nice. I have been told that certain bolts were not painted..it either the intake bolts or the valve cover bolts. I should have some pics of the panels soon.

It looks like you went with a double roller timing chain. Good choice for longevity. Ford chains seemed to get loose after 80,000 miles or so on the big V8s. I think they are called FE engines, right?

Yes there are a few upgrades on the motor for longevity. This engine is a FE. The 352, and 390 are the same block with different strokes. It is the heaviest motor I have ever worked on.

Nice work on the wagon and best of luck as you progress through the project. I'm a new to this forum but I do have a bit of experience with Ford/Mercury’s so I thought I jump in.

I've rebuilt a '68 390GT motor for a Mustang I had some years ago and there are a couple of things from that rebuild I thought you might be interested in.

First, the oil pan gasket. The gasket kit for this motor might have come with a "newer" rubber pan gasket. I'd suggest not using this gasket. This gasket very easily pinches out between the pan gasket bolts. I unfortunately experienced seepage on my rebuild. It's a fairly easy mistake to over torque these bolts which cause the gasket to bulge. Even going with the minimum torque for these bolts the gasket gets oily and bulges. With this motor I'd suggest using something like a Permatex liquid gasket; where you form the gasket yourself or an old-fashion cork gasket from fel-pro along with a gasket contact solution. I had good luck with the Permatex product.

Another thing on the pan, I would use a rubber saddle gasket that contacts the crank, making sure it's well lubricated prior to initially firing up the engine. This gasket can be easily damaged by dry contact with the crank.

When I rebuilt the 390GT I was able to find some heads off of a 428 Cougar. In an attempt to save money at the time I had the value guides "reconditioned". This turned out to be unwise. Hopefully your heads had new guides put in as part of the rebuild. Worn guides will lead to oil seepage into the cylinder causing smoke at start up.

Last, when I originally rebuilt this engine I was living back in Kansas City. It gets cold there and this engine can be a bit cranky to start when it is cold. For a couple of years I constantly adjusted the point’s gap trying to improve the cold start and idle with this engine along with adjusting the choke. Someone suggested electronic ignition, I have to say that this is a pretty good suggestion; especially if your wife will be driving it. I went from cranking and messing around with this at start up to one turn start up with the electronic unit. Ford unlike Chevy doesn't have an "adjustment window" on their distributors, making adjusting the points an irritating and very inexact science. As such the electronic ignition will make your life so much easier.

I said that was last thing but I'm curious about the transmission rebuild. The FMX / Merc-o-matic was kind of a medium duty transmission. Did you consider just getting a rebuilt C6?

Hope this didn't come off wrong I was just trying to pass on a couple of things I ran into. I hope to soon start my own thread like yours. I'll be restoring a '66 Mercury Colony Park.

Thanks so much for the tips. They are always much appreciated.

We used a cork gasket on the oil pan. We also decided to go with the permatex make a gasket for the front and rear main seals.

Surprisingly, the car already had electronic ignition installed!

Heads have been completely rebuilt including guides and seals. If it blows smoke, I will not be happy!

As far as the trans, we decided to do a complete rebuild on the original trans to keep it with the car. Also, we did not want to chase down shift linkage to fit the wagon to a C6. The actual original trans is a MX which is more than enough duty for my wife to drive.

Adrian clements from the galaxie club has figured out the following transmissions are in increasing duty as follows:
C4: V-code 240-1V
> some C-code 289-2V
> FX: some C-code 289-2V
> MX: C-code 289-2V (Police)
> some H-code 390-2V
> C6: some H-code 390-2V
> Z-code 390-4V
> Q-code 428-4V
> P-code 428-4V
> XPL Special: H-code 390-2V with Trailer Towing Package
> Z-code 390-4V with Trailer Towing Package
> Q-code 428-4V with Trailer Towing Package

Great question about the rubber feet. I would buy new ones but there are none to buy as I have found with many parts for this wagon. The best Idea I have found was to buy rubber floor mats and make them for the four feet. Also, I plan to use the idea below for the center runners.

I can see from the pictures that your Ford has holes drilled for some type of mounting plug for the fiberglass wood trim pieces. Have you been able to find new/reproduction rubber mounting plugs? I would think that the system on your Ford would be the same as my '66 Mercury. I have the wood trim off and there are these rubber plugs that contains a 5/16" nut that's actually inside the rubber plug. I unfortunately know the size of the nut as a couple of the screws that hold the wood trim pieces started "spinning" inside the rubber piece. I don't know if you encountered this same, extremely frustrating situation? Eventually the only way to remove the trim piece was to destroy the mounting plug. Does any of this ring a bell? If so, have you found any of these plugs or figured out a suitable alternative?

When I bought my car, the trim was off it in pieces. All the hardware was bagged up, so I don't know about problems with removal.

You may know that AMK Fasteners has the rubber plugs as well as the screws with the tabs for the stainless covers, which they sell, too.

They're pricey, particularly if you were looking to replace all of them. You may find them from vendors for less than AMK's pricing, too. Go here to get the catalog in pdf:

Just got the entire HVAC system back from classic auto air. It all looks brand new. I will be posting pictures of the new AC/Heater boxes when I get a chance. These are the parts we have been waiting for. Now we can get some work done! The engine and transmission are going in after we install the AC box.

I was able to pick up a mint seat set (all three rows) out of a 68 Country Sedan. Although it is slightly different patterns and the wrong color, we are going to redye the seats the correct Saddle color. It was easier and cheaper to get this mint interior and change the color than it was to have the original interior recovered. I will have a 3rd row seat assembly for sale soon since I know hove two sets.

I am very nervous about putting this wagon together. We have already lost the tank strap/support. I am having difficulty locating another one.

Another problem is that most of the car looks so new it is making parts that I planned to re-use look very bad!

As for refinishing the older parts, you might think about that baked-on paint (can't recall the name right now) but it self-levels and hides the pock marks from pitting and grinding marks, and you can do it in an oven. Pick up an old stove at the Sally-Ann store?

I am very nervous about putting this wagon together. We have already lost the tank strap/support. I am having difficulty locating another one.

Another problem is that most of the car looks so new it is making parts that I planned to re-use look very bad!

As for refinishing the older parts, you might think about that baked-on paint (can't recall the name right now) but it self-levels and hides the pock marks from pitting and grinding marks, and you can do it in an oven. Pick up an old stove at the Sally-Ann store?


I may be mistaken, but I think Norm means powder coating, which from what I have read and seen works and looks great and is very durable. Either way, Best of luck with the project.

Yep, that's it Powder Coating. Flows out level into the pits and scratches. Thanks for that kick-start. You get over 40 and CRS creeps in. Can't Remember Sh!t. :evilsmile:

I'm looking for the factory fixing points of this hitch for my 67 Ranch Wagon.
Can you provide me with some pics of these positions or if not possible - will you sell me the hitch (if not planned to use) ?

That's how they made the dash easier to work under! All that plumbing on the engine side of the cowl. :thumbsup: I'll keep that in mind when I build my real woodie wagon. Thanks for the pic.
